The great thing about left-wing kooks having seized control of the auto industry is that unlike private corporations, they don’t have to worry about profitability, since they draw up all the money they want from the bottomless well of taxpayers’ pockets. This frees them to create bold new designs intended not to meet consumer needs, but to rescue the planet from imaginary perils. Government Motors is now working on the ultimate moonbat concept car, the YeZ:

If it looks like the last place finisher in a soap box derby, that could be because it supposedly runs on the power generated by solar panels on the roof and the little windmill thingies on the wheels. I’m guessing it works a lot better if you’re going downhill.

But there’s more: the YeZ converts CO2 into oxygen, just like plants do:

So long as it makes liberals feel good about what ecoweenies they are and gives union members something to fiddle with between coffee breaks, the YeZ can be considered a success. With high enough subsidies, a few could even be sold as novelties. On sunny days, your eight-year-old might be able to drive a YeZ all the way to the end of the driveway.

Having nationalized GM, this is the childish idiocy our rulers see fit to waste our money on.
