Going Viral: ‘Sad Sister’ Gets One of the Most Brutally Honest Responses Ever From Advice Columnist

Yes, this advice columnist is every snubbed family member’s dream come true. She tells the “perfect sister” that she’s not perfect, but that she’s ‘horrible’.

A stay-at-home mom wrote to the “Ask Amy” advice column on May 8 seeking guidance on how to make one of her sisters “understand that she should perhaps find another set of friends whose lives and interests align more closely with hers.” The response she received from nationally syndicated columnist Amy Dickinson was painfully blunt.

If I had a penny for every time a family member behaved horribly… of course I also think it’s ridiculous to pout and complain about it. I would never force, cajole or weep for a family member to want to be my friend. The best revenge on a person like that is to be absolutely sweet to them and pray for them. Eventually everyone else sees through their ruse.
