Declaring Victory Over The North American Union Conspiracy Theorists: An Update In Quotes

Written By : John Hawkins
November 11, 2008

Well, Barack Obama is our new President-elect and George Bush is twiddling his thumbs and waiting for January so he can go back to Crawford. Shockingly, well to incredibly gullible people who don’t understand the basics of how the country works, Bush has not merged our country with Mexico and Canada.

Those of us who figured out in about 3 seconds that the NAU idea was about as real as the moon being made out of green cheese — pointed out the truth long ago, but a number of conspiracy wackos kept insisting the NAU was in the works. No matter how many gaping holes we shot in their ridiculous arguments, they kept claiming Bush was going to foist a North American Union on us, despite the fact that there was absolutely no hard evidence it was happening.

What I really found particularly offensive about the whole thing was that so many decent people who just didn’t know any better were duped by these kooks and morons. They just figured, “Someone like Jerome Corsi wouldn’t lead me wrong and even if he did, prominent conservative magazines and talk show hosts wouldn’t give him a platform to mislead me, would they?” Unfortunately, many of them did and in my opinion they bear some of the burden for letting this silly conspiracy theory propagate. I hope in the future, when people start tossing out these nutty theories, more conservatives will step up and say something or at a minimum, deny the wackos a forum to mislead people.

So, with that in mind, here are some quotes from the conspiracy theorists who were pushing the idea that Bush was creating a North American Union. Make sure to remember their names and take whatever they say in the future with more than a few grains of salt,

“Why doesn’t President Bush just tell the truth? His secret agenda is to dissolve the United States of America into the North American Union.” — Jerome Corsi on May 19, 2006

“If President Bush had run openly in 2004 on the proposition that a prime objective of his second term was to form the North American Union and to supplant the dollar with the “Amero,” we doubt very much that President Bush would have carried Ohio, let alone half of the Red State majority he needed to win re-election.” — Jerome Corsi on May 22, 2006

“What will happen to the sovereignty of the United States? The model is the European Community. While the United States would supposedly remain as a country, many of our nation-state prerogatives would ultimately be superseded by the authority of a North American court and parliamentary body, just as the U.S. dollar would have to be surrendered for the “Amero,” the envisioned surviving currency of the North American Union.

…What we have underway here with the SPP could arguably be termed a bureaucratic coup d’etat. If that is not the intent, then President Bush should rein in the bureaucracy until the American people have been fully informed of the true nature of our government’s desire to create a North American Union. Otherwise, the North American Union will become a reality in 2010 as planned.” — Jerome Corsi on May 30, 2006

“Bush and the Iraqi prime minister are preparing for talks in Jordan that could determine whether the United States succeeds or fails in Iraq. We’ll have reports tonight from Amman, Baghdad and the Pentagon.
The president is also determined to push his quiet agenda to create a North American union of the United States, Mexico and Canada without the approval of the people or the Congress.” — Lou Dobbs

“When Jerome Corsi and I first began reporting on the quiet conspiracy to integrate the U.S. politically, socially and economically with Mexico and Canada, we were castigated, ridiculed, marginalized ands demeaned by elected officials, our colleagues in the press and some radio talk-show hosts.

We were making it all up, they said.

Congress has never considered any such action, they scolded.

Show us the legislation, they demanded.

Not one responsible official in Washington sees any such threat, they claimed.

This is black-helicopter stuff, they scoffed.

…The North American Union “secret” is now out in the open. You’d have to be myopic not to see it. There is a clear trend toward regional government and global government all over the world. The foundational steps toward “integration” of the U.S., Mexico and Canada are already in place. We are following a plan nearly identical to the one used to establish the European Union.” — Joseph Farah

“It’s time for the Bush administration to come clean,” Gilchrist said. “If President Bush’s agenda is to establish a new North American union government to supersede the sovereignty of the United States, then the president has an obligation to tell this to the American people directly. The American public has a right to know.” — Jim Gilchrist

“Impeach George W. Bush over North American Union agenda says Republican Presidential candidate

Asked what the ultimate agenda was behind the American Union and the push on behalf of the Bush administration to homogenize the US with Mexico and Canada, Paul was clear in his response.

“I think the goal is one world government… we have the WTO, the IMF, the World Bank, then we have all the subsidiaries like NAFTA and hemispheric governments, highways coming in.”

“I just hope and pray that we can wake up enough people,” said Paul, noting that Texans in his own backyard were more aware of Bush selling out the country for an North American Union than anyone in Washington.” — Infowars

“Bush’s proposed North American Union (NAU) and the so-called Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) are the final nails in the coffin of America’s sovereignty. The globalists in Congress and the White House over the past several decades have been slowly, step by step deconstructing our sovereign republic in anticipation of eliminating these united States of America and merging them into one region of a world governmental body.” — Devvy Kidd

“When President Bush and his CANAMEX counterparts assemble in New Orleans April 21 for the 4th Annual Summit of the Americas, they will undoubtedly discuss a growing problem: How to continue denying that they are building a North American Union.

Despite the official denials, the snickering and the ridicule, the process continues. The president, himself, may be just a pawn in a much bigger game being played by geo-political forces that also do not exist – officially.” — Henry Lamb

“The $64,000 question was posed by a Fox News reporter, Bret Baier. He asked all three heads of state, “Can you say today that this is not a prelude to a North American Union, similar to a European Union?”

Their response was positively sensational. None of the three denied that SPP is leading to a North American Union. The White House transcript of the news conference allows us to assume that the elites of the three countries are, indeed, moving toward North American integration.

…As the first big visible step of North American integration, the Bush Transportation Department announced on August 17 that it will soon give the go-ahead to allow 100 Mexican trucking companies (with an undetermined number of trucks) to have full access to all our highways and roads.” — Phyllis Schlafly

“Saying he is convinced “the Bush administration has a master plan to erase all borders and to have a super-government in North America,” James P. Hoffa, general president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, celebrated the Senate’s 75-23 vote Tuesday night to block the Department of Transportation’s Mexican truck demonstration project.” — WorldNetDaily

If all the chumps that are quoted here on this list still believe George Bush is about to implement a North American Union, then step up and say so — I dare you. If you don’t have the guts, then you should admit that you were wrong and apologize to all the people that you misled by spreading this bizarre, completely implausible conspiracy theory.
