College Cancels “Hump Day” Event With Camel Over Fears That It’s Racist

Colleges have officially become a parody of themselves. This sounds like a “Seinfeld” plot line, but sadly, it isn’t. The University of St. Thomas:  has cancelled a “Hump Day” celebration with a live camel out of fear of offending Middle Eastern students.

Some students complained that the event would cost too much–around $500. But St. Thomas really backed down after students deemed it “racially insensitive.”

The “Hump Day” event, put on by the Residence Hall Association (RHA), was supposed to be “a petting zoo type of atmosphere” in which students could hang out and take photos with a live camel. According to Aaron Macke, the group’s advisor, the camel is owned by a local vendor and trained for special events.

But the event was subsequently cancelled after students took to Facebook to proclaim their concerns. The students said they were concerned about the money spent on bringing the camel to campus–around $500–and the implication that it would be racially insensitive to Middle Eastern cultures.

I wonder if college liberals ever realize that the rest of us–those who reside in “the real world”–are laughing at their fanatical devotion to:  political correctness. Don’t these emotional cripples have anything more important to worry about?
