After a Heart-Breaking Loss, This Little League Coach Delivered an Inspirational Speech for the Ages
What a guy! After a devastating 8-7 loss in the Little League World Championship, Coach Dave Belisle delivered a pep talk his young team members will never forget.
“You’re going to take back for the rest of your life what you provided for a town in Cumberland. You had the whole place jumping. You had the whole state jumping. You had New England jumping. You had ESPN jumping.
Because you wanna know why? They like fighters. They like sportsmen. They like guys that don’t quit. They like guys that play the right way.”…His inspirational speech left many of his players in tears.
Belisle is quite a bit different from those coaches who take kids’ sports way too seriously and scream at their teams when they lose. They might have lost the World Championship, but Belisle taught them an unforgettable lesson about handling life’s letdowns with grace, dignity, and a positive attitude.
