High School Students Prohibited From Selling Chick-Fil-A To Raise Funds … Since It Might Be Offensive

chkfltA high school in Ventura County is refusing to allow students to sell a popular Chick-Fil-A sandwich on campus because someone might get offended due to the chain’s owners’ opposition to gay marriage.  The booster club had intended to raise $1,600 for the football team by selling 200 sandwiches, that would be donated by a local Chick-fil-A. The restaurant has already generously donated $20,000 to Ventura schools.

According to Weasel Zippers,

“We value inclusivity and diversity on our campus and all of our events and activities are going to adhere to our mission,” Ventura Unified School District Superintendent Trudy Tuttle Arriaga said.

This makes no sense. What about the inclusivity and diversity of including Chick-Fil-A on the high school campus? The intolerance towards this generous company is appalling. It’s ok for a Nazi party to sponsor a highway, but a restaurant with Christian owners cannot contribute sandwiches to help teenagers raise money for school.
