….give up on being pro-life to appeal to single women.

….support amnesty for illegal aliens to appeal to Hispanics.

….stop trying to cut spending to appeal to the middle class.

….register guns to appease the gun control fanatics.

….legalize marijuana and support gay marriage to appeal to younger voters.

….give up on having a strong defense to appeal to Libertarians.

If we did all of that, essentially the GOP would be a center-left party up against a far left wing Democratic Party, fighting to determine how far to the Left the country goes.

Besides, selling out the people who put you into office is a loser’s game because every vote you gain from doing it, you lose because disgruntled former supporters stay home. So here’s an alternate idea: Instead of giving up on everything we believe in to pander to different groups that STILL probably aren’t going to vote for us, why don’t we try improving our message, doing some real outreach, and freshening up our agenda?
