Europe continues to clamp down on creeping sharia pressures from Muslim immigrants, with even “neutral” Switzerland making moves to deport them. Switzerland is the latest country to undertake new legislation and there is a racy ad campaign for the cause.
Anti-immigration campaign poster shows photos of hot young women at a nude beach, juxtaposed with old Muslim women in scarves swimming in dirty water and smoking, begging the question–whom do you prefer to ban in Switzerland?
A Right-wing political party in Switzerland has produced a provocative anti-immigration campaign in which a photograph of naked young models wading into Lake Zurich is contrasted with an image of headscarf-wearing Muslim women bathing in filthy water.
Switzerland will hold a referendum next week in which voters can decide whether foreigners who have been found guilty of murder, rape, drugs trafficking and other serious offences should be deported…………..
The expulsion initiative was put forward by the SVP, which has won support by capitalising on fears about foreigners, who currently make up more than a fifth of Switzerland’s population of 7.7 million.
Recent polls show that 54 per cent of Swiss voters would vote in favour of the measure while 43 per cent are against it.”
France’s law to ban the wearing of burqas in public was passed resoundinglyand passed constitutional muster:
“The law imposes a fine of 150 euros ($190) and/or a citizenship course as punishment for wearing a face-covering veil. Forcing a woman to wear a niqab or a burqa will be punishable by a year in prison or a 15,000-euro ($19,000) fine, the government said, calling it “a new form of enslavement that the republic cannot accept on its soil……”
Given the damage it produces on those rules which allow the life in community, ensure the dignity of the person and equality between sexes, this practice, even if it is voluntary, cannot be tolerated in any public place,” the French government said when it sent the measure to parliament in May.
French people back the ban by a margin of more than four to one, the Pew Global Attitudes Project found in a survey earlier this year.
Some 82 percent of people polled approved of a ban, while 17 percent disapproved.”
The ban applies only to the floor length face-covering burqa, not to the public wearing of the hijab, a female head covering which exposes face and neck. However, school girls cannot wear head scarves of any kind, due to a 2004 law.
In Italy, Muslim women wearing “burquinis” were banned last year at beaches and pools of one town with the mayor Gianluca Buonanno saying indignantly:
“……the sight of “a masked woman could cause dismay, especially among children,” reported ANSA, the Italian news agency.
To prevent such incidents, he said that women wearing a burquini to a public pool would be fined 500 euros — the equivalent of about $700.
Buonanno added that the costume might cause ”hygienic problems,” said ANSA……..
‘”We’re always very respectful of the customs and habits of those who are not of our culture,” he told ANSA. “But we mustn’t always be tolerant. Let’s try to imagine what would happen if a Western woman went swimming in a Muslim country wearing a bikini. She might be decapitated, sent to jail or expelled from the country.”
If the Europeans, who are so notoriously “open-minded” on social matters, can grasp the danger of creeping shariah, why are we wallowing in political-correctness, the equivalent of ten years or more behind them?
