The moonbats at Roto-Reuters are aghast:

Audi of America President Johan de Nysschen has said that the Chevy Volt will fail and that anybody who buys the car is an idiot. Not only that, de Nysschen has lumped proponents of any type of electric car into a category of "intellectual elite who want to show what enlightened souls they are."

Now why would he think that? Maybe because Volts will cost you $40,000 — as much as luxury cars. You can get a Corolla for $25,000 less. He also notes that the supposed purpose of electric cars — saving the polar bears from the nonexistent global warming crisis — is farcical, since a big shift from real cars to electric golf carts would increase harmless CO2 emissions. That electricity has to come from somewhere, and it won't be nuclear plants with moonbats running the show.

Since Volts are economically insane, you can be sure they'll be around for awhile. As a product of Government Motors, they will be subsidized right up to the sunroof. The beauty of fascism as an economic model is that you can't go wrong when Big Government forces everyone to pay for your product even if they have no use for it.
