John Hawkins Detente Between Dogs And Cats

So, I take Patton and the Affenpinscher (Sam) I am dogsitting outside this morning and as they are tooling around the back yard, a cat wanders over. Patton, who loves nothing better than chasing cats or circling them and nipping at their tails as they try to tear his face off, wasn't that close to Sam at the moment.

When Sam saw the cat, he ran towards the fence barking, which the cat completely ignored. Surprisingly, it walked closer to the fence and just stared at Sam. Bizarrely, Sam continued staring back at the cat like he was hypnotized and refused to come when I called him. After being ignored for a moment or two, it occurred to me that this would make a heck of picture, so I took Patton in, grabbed my camera, and came back out and took a few snaps.

I'm not sure exactly how this happened, but you have to figure Barack Obama is somehow responsible. After realizing that he was President, dogs and cats must have been filled with hope and that caused them to end their ancient feud.
