Ron Coleman Lame what?

George Bush's idea of "legacy building" is not your father's "legacy building," in the waning days of his Administration, and in the shadow of a Democratic Party that -- Obamiam triangulation notwithstanding -- remains in denial over what has been accomplished in Iraq. The AP reports that U.S. helicopter forces not-so-politely tiptoed into Arab fascist territory earlier today and made the local tinhorns sore:

A U.S. military official said the raid by special forces targeted the foreign fighter network that travels through Syria into Iraq. The Americans have been unable to shut the network down in the area because Syria was out of the military's reach.

"We are taking matters into our own hands," the official told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because of the political sensitivity of cross-border raids. . . .

A Syrian government statement said the helicopters attacked the Sukkariyeh Farm near the town of Abu Kamal, five miles inside the Syrian border. Four helicopters attacked a civilian building under construction shortly before sundown and fired on workers inside, the statement said.

Of course -- it's always those civilian buildings, isn't it? One of those baby milk factories, probably.

At least President Bush has figured this much out: He isn't going to make any more friends that he hasn't already got by going soft on foreign policy, and he isn't going to do America any favors by leaving the next President -- whoever, God help us, it is -- any kind of mess that a good "lame duck" butt-kicking couldn't clean out between now and Inauguration Day.

As you-know-who says, "More, faster, please?"
