Van Helsing First They Came for the Cats and Dogs

Retired game show host Bob Barker has decreed that all cats and dogs in Chicago must be spayed at the age of 6 months to prevent them from reproducing.

Barked Barker:

Overpopulation is one of the most tragic animal problems that we have in our country […] the only answer is legislation.

But even in left-leaning Chicago, he's met some resistance. Alderman Ray Suarez told the crusading has-been entertainer:

I don't like when the government tries to get involved in everything to solve problems. Right now we're starting with pets… What's the next step?

In light of strident calls from the increasingly powerful environmentalist movement to reduce the human population radically (see here, here, here, here, here, and here), I wonder too.
