Courtesy of Ace, Jeremiah Wright said the following yesterday,

"I do not in any way disagree with James Cone. Jim is a personal friend of mine."

Now here's Kathy Shaidle (read her while you still can, before the liberal tolerance Nazis in Canada have her thrown under the jail for disagreeing with them) on what James Cone believes,

If whiteness stands for all that is evil, blackness symbolizes all that is good. "Black theology," says Cone, "refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community … Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy."

So, Jeremiah Wright, Obama's spiritual advisor, the man Obama wouldn't disavow, the man who married Obama, whom Obama exposed his children to, whom Obama uses as a "sounding board," does "not in any way disagree" with the man who says,

"If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community … Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy."

What I'd like to see a reporter do is read that quotation to Barack Obama and invite him to embrace it or either explain why he has spent two decades in a church full of people who believe this sort of hateful nonsense.

PS: Do I think Barack Obama, in his heart of hearts, believes all this nonsense and views white people as "the enemy?" I do. Why else would he spend so long in a church full of people who believe these things and why has he become so closely associated with a reverend who feels this way? It would be like a white politician going to KKK meetings for 20 years and then pointing out all the "good work" the Klan does when he's called on it, refusing to disavow the Kleagle, and saying that the people pointing out his time in the Klan were trying to "distract" people from the real issues of the campaign. Even Robert Byrd had to leave the Klan and pretend to regret his participation to stay in the Senate, which is more than Obama has done so far.
