This video, which is entitled "US soldiers torture a little dog in Iraq," has been making the rounds,

Over at Hot Air, Allah is a little skeptical, but seems to be buying it. Ace of Spades HQ thinks it's fake.

My verdict? I'm leaning towards fake. By fake, I mean that I don't think that it's a live puppy being thrown. I have watched it several times and there are a few things that stick out.

#1) The puppy does look real, but it stays in the same position the whole time and doesn't wiggle around even as it's being hurled.

#2) The dog makes no noise at all until after it is thrown. The act of throwing the dog would undoubtedly be painful and frightening to the dog, which would have caused it to yelp when the soldier's arm started moving forward.

#3) The yelping that the puppy does make when it's thrown seems to be dubbed in.

#4) The "puppy" seems to go higher into the air and farther than it could have if it had been alive. It's obviously either lighter than a living animal or at the least, dead weight. Furthermore, the "puppy" didn't fly through the air like a living animal. It didn't twist around and stayed still, even as it went end over end.

That's why I am thinking that it's either a dead puppy or some sort of very lifelike prop. Either way, the Marines are investigating, so we will get to the bottom of this issue.
