John Hawkins Thought Of The Day: The Best News The GOP Has Had All Year

The biggest piece of good news that the GOP has gotten is that Hillary and Barack are locked in a close contest and they probably won't settle the race until after a contentious Democratic convention in late August.

That means the Democrats will probably spend the next 6 months beating up on each other and raising money for the primaries while John McCain can spend that time raising money for the general election. So, instead of a long presidential race, where the GOP candidate is cut to pieces by the press and is way behind in fundraising, we may have a short race where McCain actually has more money than the Dem candidate, much more time to campaign in key states, and is beaten up much less than the GOP candidate usually is by the MSM.

That's a ray of sunshine breaking through a dark cloud for the GOP in 2008.
