John Hawkins Q&A Friday: Favorite Movie Lines

Question: "My friends and I are total movie geeks. To the point where we routinely use lines (some of them deliberately obscure) from movies in everyday conversation. For example: If one of my boys says he needs somebody to help him move, the proper response would be: I'm your huckleberry. (Doc Holiday, Tombstone) Anywhoo, my question is: What, if any, are your favorite movie catchphrases that you use in conversation?" -- Good_Ol_Boy

Answer: Here are a few that come up in conversation every once in while...

"This job would be great if it wasn't for the...customers." -- Clerks -- This was one I used back in my tech support days

Mongol General: "What is best in life?"
Conan: "Crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of their women." -- Conan

"Now you see that evil will always triumph, because good is dumb." -- Space Balls

"Naked force has settled more issues in history than any other factor. The contrary opinion 'violence never solves anything' is wishful thinking at its worst. -- Starship Troopers

"I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick *ss...and I'm all out of bubble gum." -- They Live

"It's sucking my will to live!" -- Wayne's World

But there's many a slip twixt the cup and the lip." -- Young Guns
