I'm getting ready to buy an MP3 player. I want something I can use at the gym and to plug into a car stereo (I'm getting ready to buy that too) for long trips.

Music wise, I'm not sure I'd need to put more than oh, 500 songs in it? Well, that's my initial impression, but I could be wrong.

Any advice for me on what I should get?
