If Hillary Clinton going to be the next President of the United States? These numbers say "no, she isn't"...

Bad news for New York's junior senator.

While Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) has won broad support in national tracking polls in her quest for the presidency, the former first lady is steeped in negative attitudes, according to a Zogby International poll released Sunday.

Half of likely voters nationwide said they would never vote for New York Sen. Hillary Clinton, in a poll Zogby conducted Oct. 11-15, 2007, with a margin of error of +/– 1.0 percentage point.

So, before the real horse race has even gotten started, half of likely voters say they won't vote for Hillary.

Moreover, let's take a look at what are sure to be some of the hottest issues next year...

Iraq: Most people consider Iraq to be the Dem's ace in the hole, but there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between the position Hillary has and the one that the top tier GOP contenders have. The only real difference is that most people believe Rudy, Mitt, & Fred and people don't trust Hillary. But, if Hillary isn't willing to promise to take troops out of Iraq by 2013, it's hard to see how she turns that into a really big issue.

Corruption: Hillary may be the most corrupt candidate to run for office in the last century and "yes," I am including Nixon. She has an almost unbelievable amount of baggage from her husband's time in the White House and she already has more shady fund raisers tied to her this time around than all the other candidates combined.

Illegal Immigration: This has been the biggest domestic issue of the year and Hillary is an unabashed supporter of amnesty.

Motivation: The hardcore liberal activists don't like Hillary and the conservative base despises her. Conservatives will turn out to vote against her, but will liberals turn out to vote for her? That's unknown.

Bush, Clinton, Bush, Clinton: Americans seem to be sick and tired of massive partisanship and 28 years with either a Bush or Clinton in the White House. That's why Jeb Bush, a popular Republican governor in a key state, didn't run this time. So, who are the Dems looking to run? A woman who is only being considered for the job because of nepotism. A woman guaranteed, more than any other candidate on either side, to cause more brutal political infighting.

Does that mean Hillary couldn't win? Not at all. But, she's definitely not the best candidate the Dems could run, and her enormous flaws mean she will be a very beatable opponent, even if 2008 turns out to be a bad year for the GOP.
