John Hawkins Poems from Guantánamo: The Interrogators Rhyme Back

Over at the Boston Globe, they're actually pimping, "Poems from Guantánamo: The Detainees Speak," a book of poetry by the terrorists who're locked up at Gitmo.

After painting these guys as innocent victims, the Boston Globe posted poems like this,

Take my blood.
Take my death shroud and
The remnants of my body.
Take photographs of my corpse at the grave, lonely.
Send them to the world,
To the judges and
To the people of conscience,
Send them to the principled men and the fair-minded.
And let them bear the guilty burden, before the world,
Of this innocent soul.
Let them bear the burden, before their children and before history,
Of this wasted, sinless soul,
Of this soul which has suffered at the hands of the "protectors of peace."

You know what someone should put together? Poems from the soldiers interrogating these guys. They might go something like this.

Waterboard, waterboard, in cell number two
If only I could use you on this sack of poo
He gets a slick lawyer and visits from the Red Cross
But if I even grab him by the shirt I'll be reamed by my boss

This guy built bombs in Afghanistan
but I can't even use stress positions because there's a ban
Oh, if only we could get the liberals off my back for an hour
I'd go off on this guy just like Jack Bauer

It's so ridiculous that I can't do my job
and beat this terrorist with a sack of doorknobs
Come on, he's in Al-Qaeda, he blew up a girl's school
but these liberals cry for him and complain that we're cruel

Soon the Democrats will mess up and close Gitmo
But, what happens then, where will the terrorists go?
What we should do, since we still have a need
is send all the terrorists to live with Harry Reid
