The CIA may be good at what they do, but even they can't assassinate imaginary figures,

"Farda News reports that George W. Bush has had a meeting with a group of American Muslims three weeks ago. In that meeting, he has learned about the Islamic Messiah, Imam Mahdi. Reportedly, CIA has set up a group of elite American Muslims to advise him on the issues regarding Mehdi. In that meeting, he has stated, "This Mehdi must be something very important that Muslims are willing to be killed for him". According to Farda News, Dick Cheney is against this team [Persian].

A while ago, Ahmadinejad stated, "Thy have completed their file on him [Mehdi]. They are only looking for the address to go kill him. There are foreigners in Tehran who inquire believers about his residence to disrupt [his fight against world powers and the establishment of] Allah's just government" [Persian]."

Moqtada al-Sadr's people were previously spinning this same strange little story -- which, if you think about it, makes no sense whatsoever.

Christians, being Christians, think that Muhammad was just a bandit who duped a bunch of suckers into believing his fairy tales. Since that's the case, we believe Islam is a false religion and that the Mahdi is as real as the Easter Bunny and that's not going to change, no matter what any "elite American Muslims" happen to think about it.

Even if you're not a very bright or educated Muslim, you should realize that Christians don't buy into your religion, and therefore this story is all bilge. On the other hand, Muslims as a whole seem to be particularly prone to joining the wacky, kooky conspiracy set, so maybe a plot that features the CIA trying to kill a religious figure they should believe is mythical, resonates with a lot more of them than you'd tend to think.
