John Hawkins Can Mother Sheehan Cry Her Way To Victory Against Nancy Pelosi?

Last time we saw Cindy Sheehan, she was quitting the peace movement and heading into retirement. But now, like Jason and Freddy, she's back and this time Momma Moonbat is hunting Democrats!

"Cindy Sheehan, the soldier's mother who galvanized the anti-war movement, said Sunday that she plans to run against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi unless she introduces articles of impeachment against President Bush in the next two weeks.

Sheehan said she will run against the San Francisco Democrat in 2008 as an independent if Pelosi does not seek by July 23 to impeach Bush. That's when Sheehan and her supporters are to arrive in Washington, D.C., after a 13-day caravan and walking tour starting next week from the group's war protest site near Bush's Crawford ranch.

"Democrats and Americans feel betrayed by the Democratic leadership," Sheehan told The Associated Press. "We hired them to bring an end to the war. I'm not too far from San Francisco, so it wouldn't be too big of a move for me. I would give her a run for her money."

Messages left with Pelosi's staff were not immediately returned.

She plans her official candidacy announcement Tuesday. Sunday wrapped up what is expected to be her final weekend at the 5-acre Crawford lot that she sold to California radio talk show host Bree Walker, who plans to keep it open to protesters."

Well, we'll get a chance to see how much the Left believes its own rhetoric, now won't we? They were the ones who said Cindy Sheehan has "absolute moral authority" and they called her the "Rosa Parks of the anti-war movement." So, doesn't that mean that a vote against Cindy Sheehan is the same as a vote against Rosa Parks? Along those same lines, Cindy Sheehan, as we all know, is the mother of a US soldier. So, wouldn't a vote against Cindy Sheehan be an insult to the troops and to mothers everywhere? Also, wait until San Fran Nan gets a load of Cindy's ground breaking strategy: crying every day until her poll numbers get over 50%.

In all seriousness, Sheehan has zero chance of winning, in part because Pelosi is a sharp politician who's strong in her district and in part because Sheehan has always struck me as one of the dumbest people in the political arena. All it would take to trip her up would be to ask her a question containing 3 or more syllables.

My guess is that Pelosi will completely ignore her unless Sheehan somehow, some way gets within striking distance of her. But personally, I hope the lefty bloggers work her over a bit. It's always sort of horrible/compelling, like a car wreck, to watch them pull the wings off of "liberal butterflies" like Paul Hackett and Cindy Sheehan once they decide that they're of no more use to the movement.
