John Hawkins John Edwards Campaigns With Danny Glover?

The Democratic presidential candidates are really working hard to try to get to way off to each other's left. In an age where their every move is chronicled on blogs and YouTube, you have to wonder if that's a good idea. For example, take John Edwards,

"Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards added some Hollywood star power to his focus on rural problems, campaigning Wednesday in South Carolina's small towns with actor and political activist Danny Glover.

Glover, whose movie credits include "The Royal Tenenbaums" and the "Lethal Weapon" series, joined Edwards as he spoke to a crowd of more than 200 about increasing employment and improving education.

Glover said Edwards understands the needs of the working poor and that the campaign is telling their story. "This is a campaign about real democracy," Glover said."

Danny Glover is an America hating Communist/apologist for dictators.

Even if you win by campaigning with a guy like Glover, you lose, because he's so repellant to the average person. Can't you just see a campaign commercial featuring John Edwards campaigning with Danny Glover interspersed with radical comments that Glover has made like,

"One of the main purveyors of violence in this world has been this country [the U.S.], whether it's been against Nicaragua, Vietnam or wherever."

or

"The death penalty is inhumane... whether that person is in a jail or it's bin Laden."

This may be the one fortunate side effect of the Republican Party being such a disorganized mess right now -- it's making the Democrats so overconfident that they're starting to expose the American people to what they really believe. And when a guy like Danny Glover, who is in bed with an anti-American communist thug like Hugo Chavez, is considered mainstream enough to campaign with a top tier Democratic candidate, it's very telling.
