John Hawkins A (Sort Of) Kind Word For Mitt Romney

I'm not a big fan of Mitt Romney because he has flip flopped on a lot of issues over his career and truthfully, it's very difficult to know whether he's taking a position because he believes it or because he thinks it will help him politically. (His immediate opposition to this amnesty bill, which in principle, should be exactly what he supports is a perfect example).

That being said, I like him a heck of a lot better than the two other top tier candidates because at least Mitt is willing to pander. The attitude of Rudy Giuliani and John McCain seems to be we are what are and, "We don't really care if conservatives like us or not," which incidentally, is very reminiscent of the guy we have in the White House right now.

So Mitt, he isn't my favorite candidate or even my 2nd favorite candidate, and I do worry that some people might not support him in the end because he's a Mormon, but he is definitely a couple of cuts above McCain and Giuliani in my book.

I consult for the Duncan Hunter campaign.
