John Hawkins Excerpt Of The Day: If You're Not Listening To The Dixie Chicks, Why Do You Hate The Constitution?

Some background: In 2003, the Dixie Chicks' freedom of speech was crushed because some people disagreed with what they said about President Bush, Iraq, American flags without spit on them, etc. Now, if you look at the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, it clearly states (emphasis mine):

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances; oh yeah, and nobody's allowed to disagree with some cute little dumpling's opinions on world events, at least not publicly, and they definitely can't stop buying her records."

So if you're not listening to the Dixie Chicks right now, ask yourself this: Why do you hate the Constitution?" -- Jim Treacher
