Michael Moore: Is He Afraid Of Black People?
Have you ever noticed that liberals tend to just exempt themselves from the universal criticism that they aim at other people? There are lots of examples of this. How about Al Gore going on and on about global warming while he pumps out greenhouse gasses like there’s no tomorrow with his mansion and lifestyle? What about all the liberals who slam America for being hate filled, violent, or just being a lousy country — without including themselves in the criticism they’re aiming at their countrymen?
The reason that’s worth noting is because of Michael Moore’s latest bizarre rant about guns — courtesy of Newsbusters:
And the majority of these guns, I mean, the vast majority of these guns are owned by people who live in safe parts of town or mostly in suburbs and rural areas, places where there are very few murders. And your sane producer was saying to me backstage here that he was talking to people there (in Tucson), they said everybody’s packing there, I mean, the surgeons there at the hospital, they said they have guns, everybody has a gun, yet they all said we have a very low gun murder rate here in Tucson. So why do you have a gun then? Why do you have a gun? What are you afraid of? What is that thing that we’re afraid of that we want to have a gun in the house?
…I am loathe to bring up what is in our head because we don’t like to talk about it so much. But on this particular day, on Martin Luther King Day, I think this needs to be said. That imaginary person that’s going to break into your home and kill you, who does that person look like? You know, it’s not freckle-faced Jimmy down the street, is it really? I mean, that’s not what really, that’s not what really people, we never really want to talk about the racial or the class part of this, in terms of how it’s the poor or it’s people of color that we imagine that we’re afraid of. Why are we afraid? What is that, and it’s been a fear that has existed for a very, very long time.
Now, this is fascinating on a couple of levels. Of course, it’s yet another example of the Left playing the race card on just about every issue imaginable since Obama got into office. You criticize Obama, you oppose health care, you go to a Tea Party, you vote Republican — you’ve had liberals claiming all those things mean you’re racist. Now, Michael Moore is expanding it out to gun owners. Not a shocker. When all you have is a hammer, everything starts to look like a nail.
But here’s the real kicker: Michael Moore has bodyguards and his bodyguards are armed. In other words, we might ask Michael Moore if he has bodyguards because he’s afraid of “people of color?” Put another way, is this projection? Is Michael Moore scared a black man’s going to shoot him; therefore, is he just assuming everyone else has a gun for the same reason? Maybe that might explain this fascinating nugget Peter Schweitzer dug up,
Michael Moore has loudly chastised Hollywood for not hiring enough blacks. Yet Schweitzer’s survey of the 134 people who have worked on his films show a grand total of three black employees.
Oh, what do you know, we’re back where we started, with liberals like Michael Moore exempting himself from the same criticism he hurls at everyone else.
Rush Limbaugh and a few other radio hosts have made it a center piece of the attack against President Obama,
Democrat leader Senator Harry Reid said that he has no interest in funding cancer treatments for kids today in a
