Dem Congresswoman Sneers At Pro-Gun Senior Citizen Afraid That Gun Control Laws Could Get Him Killed: ‘You’d Probably Be Dead Anyway’

At a public gun control forum in Denver, Colorado on Tuesday, a senior citizen stood up to ask a question to the assembled panelists who included U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.) and Ed Perlmutter (D-Colo.).

The man asked, “My question is: What about me? There may not be one bad guy that comes into my house… I have to change magazines? I am (at) a serious disadvantage. What about me?”

It was a fair question. One law abiding citizen confronted by multiple criminals in his house, late on a dark night, could conceivably go through quite a few bullets in a hurry. A short pause to change magazines could be the difference between life and death in that situation.

So, how did U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette respond? She intoned, “The good news for you, you live in Denver. The (Denver Police Department) would be there within minutes.” Then DeGette smirked as she noted, “You’d probably be dead anyway if they had that kind of firepower.”

Well, certainly the Senior Citizen would be dead if it were up to DeGette since she would disarm him and leave him at the mercy of his attackers. Of course, from DeGette’s arrogant perspective, that would probably be a plus since she wouldn’t have to put up with his impertinent questions. After all, who does that old man think he is daring to question Diana DeGette?
