$500 Reward for Ratting Out Gun Owners in People’s Republic of New York

Too bad the warrantless nighttime raid on the Shawn Moore household took place in New Jersey and not Andrew Cuomo’s authoritarian dystopia across the Hudson. The snitch who called it in might have been paid for his service to the State:

Known as the “Gun Tip Line”, New Yorkers can call a toll free hotline to alert police if they believe someone they know has an illegal gun. The call would be picked up by state police and local law enforcement would be notified if the tip seemed reliable.

If there was an arrest the tipster would receive as much as $500.

“This initiative seeks to turn neighbor against neighbor and use their own tax dollars to pay for the $500 reward,” said Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin, R-Melrose.

That’s how things are done under totalitarian regimes. The government turns the citizenry against itself. Why should the USSA be any different?

If only the arrest of Nathan Haddad had come on a call to Cuomo’s tip line. Someone may have made a few bucks out of the decorated combat veteran being thrown in jail on felony charges because empty magazines were found in his car.
