Lunatic Duckspeak From EPA Administrator

Ever since the Supreme Court reached the insane 5-4 decision that the EPA could regulate carbon dioxide, a harmless product of literally all human activity, we have been waiting for the other shoe to drop. Down the shoe comes, under cover of the most absurd and mendacious duckspeak to come out of the Obama Regime yet. EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy plunged so far into self-parody as to characterize a potentially devastating attack on electricity producers as “an investment opportunity”:

Spouting warnings about “climate change” (“The science is clear. The risks are clear…We must act.”), McCarthy described and defended the EPA’s plan to reduce pollution from existing power plants by setting various carbon-reduction goals for each state to meet by the year 2030.

“And the great thing about this proposal is it really is an investment opportunity. This is not about pollution control. It’s about increased efficiency at our plants…It’s about investments in renewables and clean energy. It’s about investments in people’s ability to lower their electricity bills by getting good, clean, efficient appliances, homes, rental units,” McCarthy told the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.

True enough, it is not about pollution.

Sen. John Barroso (R-Wyo.) said the proposed regulation may cause Americans pain by raising electricity prices, but it “can’t make a dent” in terms of global pollution.

Only a gibbering lunatic could believe the malevolent legislation coming out of the unelected EPA bureaucracy is going to improve the climate, not that the climate needs improving. The point is to destroy the coal industry as Obama promised, for ideological reasons that only left-wing fanatics can fully grasp.

I just checked my Newspeak-to-English dictionary. Come to think of it, the EPA’s malicious scheme may be an investment plan after all. The word “invest” when spoken by an Obamunist translates to the English word “waste.” It will certainly be a waste if we allow these moonbats to destroy the coal industry, which provides many thousands of jobs and about half of our electricity.
