Price Responds To Obama’s Car Joke: D Is For Dumb, R Is For Reform

I bet Barry didn’t see this one coming

President Barack Obama has a flimsy case for claiming the economy is moving forward, as he has been claiming at recent Democratic Party fundraisers, critics say.

“Right now he’s got us in a ditch,” Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.), chairman of the Republican Study Committee, told CNSNews.com.

“There’s a rule about holes,” Price continued. “When you find yourself in a hole, you quit digging. These folks don’t know how to quit digging. They’re digging faster, faster and faster, with greater debt and a greater deficit that’s destroying the future.”

Don’t tell the NY Times that. With serious threats of deflation popping up more and more, we learn that the Fed will meet today to discuss the issue (along with others), and we get

With Congress unwilling to embark on substantial new stimulus spending, the Fed has the only tools likely to be employed anytime soon in response to the economic warning signs.

Right. Because the Stimulus, son of Stimulus, grandson of Stimulus, humongous budgets, etc and so on have worked so well that we are now talking about deflation, which even Paul Krugman agrees is bad.

Anyhow

“If you have a car and you want to go forward, what do you do? You put it in D,” Obama said. “When you want to go backwards, what do you do? You put it in “R.” I’m just saying — that’s no coincidence. We are not going to give them the keys back.

CNSNews.com asked Rep. Price about the president’s quip. “If you want me to respond, I’d say D is for dumb and R is for reform,” the Republican said.

It’s nice to see at some Republicans actually throwing out some slaps in this political fight. For too long they sat back, fired a few warning shots, but, never actually took off the white gloves and smacked back. They are bringing guns to the fight instead of knives, as Obama likes to say.
