There is Nothing to Compromise on Guns

The second amendment is quite clear. The government does not should not have the ability to restrict gun ownership. I don’t even understand why there is an argument. The founding fathers made it quite clear on why they incorporated the second amendment into the constitution. You can read my article here if you don’t quite get it. It had nothing to do with self defense. That is just a bonus.

If you actually want to restrict gun ownership you need to amend the document itself. Have fun getting super majority. It would be hard to have a super majority in the congress or senate. The states could always do it, luckily California only counts as one vote.

If you actually want to have an argument about gun control. You need to argue about throwing out the second amendment completely. The founding fathers made it quite clear what exactly they meant. You can go back to the hundreds of quotes about the issue.

Those on our side of the isle need to realize this shouldn’t even be a debate. We don’t have to give anything up. The Bill of Rights completely restricts any proposed government action. We all feel bad for Gabrielle Giffords, but facts remain facts. Just because you want to feel safer that is no reason to give up our freedoms. Our freedom is too important to mess with.

They have already essentially rubbed out the majority of the 4th-6th amendments. We encouraged them and let them. This is why they feel like they can mess with the second. The second amendment was put in to protect the others. There is no argument on this issue.

Freedom is just too damn important.
