John Conyers Calls for Department of Peace

He may be ignorant, corrupt, and admittedly too dumb even to make sense of the legislation he passes, but at least Rep John Conyers (D-MI), Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, stands firm on behalf of liberal true believers when it comes to foreign policy. Prior to the One Nation moonbat fest, he spoke on the topic to the openly communist Democratic Socialists of America, afterward accepting a souvenir dunce cap from DSA National Director Frank Llewellyn.

He devoted much of his talk to the topic of peace — in Afghanistan or elsewhere. “Overriding it all is the quest for peace in the world,” he said. “We are bent on accidental or intentional nuclear annihilation, and I’m firmly supporting Congressman (Dennis) Kucinich’s measure that would make a Department of Peace in the United States Federal Government.”

Conyers is one of 72 U.S. Representatives to co-sponsor the latest effort by Kucinich, an Ohio Democrat who ran against President Obama in the 2009 primary, to establish the cabinet-level peace department. After publicly butting heads with Obama last year over troop escalations, Conyers said there “probably isn’t anybody above the [tenth] grade who doesn’t know you cannot win a war in Afghanistan.”

Up for re-election himself next month, Conyers argued it is up to progressives to get President Obama “straightened out and on the right track” before he runs for a second term.

Only in Conyers’s New Mogadishu and Kucinich’s Mistake by the Lake, two cities that have succumbed to terminal moonbattery, could anyone run to the left of the Moonbat Messiah, who has tried but failed to bring about a rapid surrender in Afghanistan that he could survive politically, as documented by Bob Woodward.

Conyers continued to drone to fellow commies:

“In 2012, there is a highly-organized effort to make sure he is a one-term president,” he said. “It started before he was sworn in. It’s grown. I only mention the Tea Party because they are small and dismissible. But there are much more serious and affluent sources behind this effort to interfere with a re-election campaign of Obama.”

We’ll see how “small and dismissible” the Tea Party is on November 2.

A whole order of fries short of a Happy Meal.
