Howard Dean Lets The Cat Out Of The Bag On Taxes

“The only problem is – and this is initially going to seem like heresy from a progressive is – the truth is everybody needs to pay more taxes, not just the rich. And it’s a good start. But we’re not going to get out of this deficit problem unless we raise taxes across the board, to go back to what Bill Clinton had and his taxes. And if we don’t do that, the problem is the pressure is going to be on spending even more.” –: Howard Dean

What have conservatives been telling you about taxes on the rich? It’s all a smokescreen and it’s not going to raise that much money. So, the Democrats sell the American people big government paid for by high taxes on the rich, but what you actually get is big government paid for by high taxes on everyone.

Now that the Democrats are about to get the tax increase on the rich they’ve been wanting, you’re going to start to see them shift over to tax increases on the middle class. Howard Dean may be one of the first to do it, but you can be sure, he’s not going to be the last.
