Florida is on the front lines of the Obama machine for the Jewish vote – Last week at the B’nai Torah Congregation in Boca Raton, Susan Rice, the US Ambassador to the UN and an Obama cabinet member made a speech supporting Obama – and about two dozen pro-Israel people who managed to get in to hear the speech were escorted out by police during her speech for waving little Israeli flags while she was speaking. In an event which received media coverage, those who opposed were placed on a blacklist and banned from the event for being anti-Obama.
Thankfully, close by there seems to be a synagogue with some brains - Miami’s Temple Israel on Thursday canceled a program featuring Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz who had planned presentation on Israel. This President has been nothing short of awful on Israel – and deserves no audience from the Jewish community. As DNC chairwoman, Wasserman Schultz is one of the president’s top mouthpieces.
Synagogues across the U.S. should follow Temple Israel and disinvite any Obama events – the Obama administration has been awful on Israel. Lest anyone forgets, the Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was left over an hour waiting in the White House – humiliating treatment for a head of state and in Egypt Obama compared the murder of six million Jews during World War Two to the “occupation” of the Palestinian territories. Obama has perhaps spoken more about the Israeli “occupation” than the butchering of thousands of Syrians by their own government, and repeatedly spoken about the dangerous 1967 borders.
It is high time the Jewish community remind Obama just as the great Prime Minister Begin, who followed the Zionist sage Ze’ev Jabotinsky did many years ago: “Israel is not a Banana Republic.” Begin also said: “The Jew bows before no man only God.”
Obama is a master at Public Relations, and this PR Agency owner says that the best message our community all over America can send President Obama is that he and his proxies won’t be allowed into any synagogue to push their Anti-Israel message.
