For once we have a president who delivers on his promises. Obama said he would fundamentally transform America; if you fell asleep in 2008 and woke up now, would you believe even half of what you see on the news? He said he would cause energy prices to skyrocket; despite the discovery of massive energy reserves on our own land, they have:
The price of electricity in the United States for May was 13.1 cents per kilowatt hour (KWH), which is the highest it has been on record for that month, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), which tracks the price going all the way back to 1984.
Think it’s bad now? Just wait.
These price data come at a time when President Barack Obama has announced a “new national climate action plan” to reduce carbon dioxide emissions to combat alleged man-made global warming and spend more federal money on “clean energy” projects.
Man-made global warming has been revealed to all but the most obdurately ignorant to be a hoax. Despite soaring CO2 levels produced largely by China and India, temperatures have not risen since the 1990s, in dramatic contradiction to socialists’ climate models. As for the “clean energy” projects — they will most likely be boondoggles like Solyndra, SolarCity, Solexel, et cetera, specifically designed to funnel public money to Obama’s campaign donors. If the rule of law still prevailed, he would already be in prison for them.
The coal industry, which produces about 45% of the electricity in America is expected to be the hardest hit by the federal regulations, raising its costs and the cost of electricity for consumers. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) said that Obama’s plan is “a war on America” because the regulatory burden and costs will severely damage the U.S. coal industry.
Yet Manchin was willing to crawl into bed with Obama just recently, in a bid to disarm the population. His phony outrage is not likely to cause West Virginia voters to forget this.
Unless our rulers are literally insane, the purpose of Obama’s War on Coal is not to make the weather more suitable for polar bears, but to raise prices on literally everything and to throw people out of work. Just as flies feed on infected wounds, economic hardship is sustenance for the Democrat Party.
