Riding Charlie Sheen’s Corpse Into The Ground

Charlie Sheen: He’s pumping Tiger Blood, man! He’s winning! He’s a rock star from Mars! He’ll make your face melt off! Wheeeeee! Go to his live shows! Give him a new TV show! This guy is really exciting now! Cheer him on!

That’s in front of the cameras. Behind the cameras, here’s what it’s like:

“You can’t do that much cocaine and work. I didn’t want to be writing a sitcom while my friend died. Or worse, hurt someone else. We couldn’t be complacent. There was a tragedy unfolding right in front of us. There was violence and blackouts. On a certain level, if you’re looking the other way, you’re responsible. It was falling apart. It was heartbreaking to be around here then.” – Chuck Lorre on firing Charlie Sheen from Two and a Half Men

We’ve already seen how this movie turns out. It’s called “Amy Winehouse.”

The same people who were laughing and cheering her on when she sang, “They tried to make me go to rehab, I said, ‘no, no, no,’” were the ones making jokes about her after she died. That’s Charlie Sheen’s future unless something changes and it’s not pretty for him or his “fans.” — John Hawkins, January 2012

From Yahoo!TV.

Everybody’s favorite rock star from Mars, Charlie Sheen, is returning from Hollywood exile this month with a brand-new sitcom, FX’s “Anger Management.” And now that he’s had a full year to process the public meltdown that led to his “Two and a Half Men” firing, he’s gained a little much-needed perspective on the whole mess. “Clearly, a guy gets fired, his relationships are in the toilet, he’s off on some f—ing tour, there’s nothing ‘winning’ about any of that,” Sheen admits in the new issue of Rolling Stone. “I was in total denial.”

But Sheen’s not in denial about his battles with substance abuse; in fact, he’s open about the fact that he’s not exactly clean and sober these days. “I don’t see what’s wrong with a few drinks. Mine’s vodka. Straight, because I’ve always said that ice is for injuries, ha ha.” (That may help explain the strange, oblique email he sent to TMZ this week in response to accusations he’s still on drugs.)

Here’s the TMZ email referenced there.

We asked Charlie Sheen point blank if he has been using drugs again. We also asked him if he has any knowledge about Brooke Mueller relapsing. First, read his response … then we will translate:

I can’t speak to anyone’s opinion or judgement.
I was there
they were not.
their tepid
hearsay is a baseless
static drone.
a mantra.
their theme.
I refuse to be held hostage by their ‘constitutional’
privelidge,
to judge those
who can and who do.

This guy is not in any kind of meaningful rehabilitation. He’s still a mess and yet, what is FX doing? They’re using the fact that Charlie Sheen is a mess to help sell the show.

You may say that Sheen is an adult and the people at FX are just being good capitalists by putting him on TV because he’s hot, but it’s still morally wrong. This guy is not going to get clean while he’s doing a TV show. He needs to be in a rehab center somewhere pulling himself together. This guy is on pace to die just like Amy Winehouse, just like Whitney Houston. Everybody loves you after you’re dead, talks about what a great talent you were, and tells everyone how sad it is that you’re gone. How about showing just “this much” love and responsibility while these people are alive so they don’t end up being found dead in a hotel room somewhere?
