Good News! Al Qaeda Leader Anwar Al-Awlaki Reported Killed, Realizes Only Male Virgins Left In Paradise
  30 Sep 2011     8:14 am      William Teach

The good news tag is not meant to be it’s usual sarcasm
(CBS News) Anwar al-Awlaki, a U.S.-born radical Islamic preacher who rose to the highest level of al Qaeda’s franchise in Yemen, has been killed.
Al-Awlaki, born in New Mexico, has been linked to al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula’s (AQAP) attempted bombing of a U.S. passenger jet over Detroit on Christmas day, 2009, and was thought to be a leader of the group.
A U.S. government official confirms to CBS News senior security correspondent David Martin that al-Awlaki was killed. Yemen’s …

Illinois Congressman Apologizes to Muslims for Being Discriminated Against
19 Sep 2011     7:16 pm      Warner Todd Huston

Mike Quigley, the Democrat Congressman from the Chicago area’s 5th Congressional District thinks he needs to apologize for America. Why? Well, because we have been so darn evil towards Muslims and all, dontcha know? And why are we so mean to Muslims? It’s because Republicans want to cut the budget.
It looks like Quigley has taken a page out of President Obama’s world apology tour playbook by going back to his district to attend the American Islamic College Conference in Chicago where he felt compelled to apologize for America.
After a long …

Taliban Attacks US Embassy In Kabul – Does Obama Still Want To Talk With Them?
  13 Sep 2011     11:02 am      William Teach

Hey, remember back in 2009 when Obama signaled he was willing to talk with the Taliban? And how back in March he was thinking about how to talk with the Taliban (and Hezbollah)? And in May, we learned he was actually holding peace talks with the Taliban? Yeah, how’s that working?
Suicide bomb and gun attacks have hit central Kabul, with a string of blasts targeting the US embassy and at least one death reported in a suicide attack in the west of the Afghan capital.
Gunmen are holed up in a …

Remembering September 11th, Ten Years Later
  11 Sep 2011     8:14 am      William Teach

As I have done every year since the 5th anniversary of September 11th, I remember two wonderful individuals, who I’ll never have a possible chance to meet and converse with, due to 19 murderous Islamist terrorists and their superiors, who attacked our country on that fateful day.

This is Brooke Alexandra Jackman. She was born August 28, 1978. She was murdered by Islamic extremists September 11, 2001, while working at Cantor Fitzgerald, where she worked as an assistant trader. She was just 23.
After reading so many touching stories and tributes about …

10 Years After 9/11
  11 Sep 2011     2:03 am      John Hawkins

The problem with being a blogger on a day like today is that not only has it all been said before, in 10 years you’ve personally probably said it all before. So, on the 10 year anniversary of 9/11, what’s left to say?
I can say that I haven’t forgotten about the attacks or forgiven the people who were responsible. Being a member of Al-Qaeda merits a death sentence and I’m not very particular about how it gets carried out. Whether they’re shot, blown up, or hung after a military trial, …

Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges
  9 Sep 2011     9:07 am      Courtney Messerschmidt

Leggy bay bee!
As best understood, Inter Arma Enim Silent Leges is ancient Romanspeak roughly (very roughly, mind ye) xlated as “In combat time, attorneys can like STFU”
During the decade of war (so far – nicht wahr?) Attorneys and their legion of the discombobulated detached detachment of inapropriate handwringers, boring assetted, worrying about the wrong thing
collective of cats in heat with defeat, retreat and repeat have been vocal with uncritical thinking critique of Great Satan and her new millennium wars.

Intended consequences?

“Nothing undermined the British and the French in 1939/1940 more than …

Decade Of War
  7 Sep 2011     10:31 am      Courtney Messerschmidt

The last ten years has seen a semi unbound Great Satan – using her fire power, brain power, will power and staying power all across the globe in war.
Wars occur at unpredictable times, take unpredictable courses and have unexpected consequences.

Some wars are carefully planned, but even those wars rarely take place as expected. Think of the Germans in World War I, having planned the invasion of France for decades and with meticulous care. Nothing went as planned for either side, and the war did not take a course …

Al-Qaeda Affiliate, not Famine, is Responsible for Somalian Genocide
  5 Sep 2011     12:21 pm      Rachel Alexander

Somalia is in the midst of a famine, suffering from the worst drought in 60 years. 29,000 Somali children have died within the past three months, and 100,000 Somalis are expected to die in the next few weeks. The al-Qaeda affiliate al-Shabab has destroyed the country, taking over much of the southern part of the country where it has imposed a strict version of Sharia law. The Taliban-like organization refuses to allow humanitarian organizations associated with the West to provide aid to the starving people. Al-Shabab expelled the U.N.’s World Food …

Libya: Airpower, SOF and the NTC
  1 Sep 2011     5:44 pm      Courtney Messerschmidt

Nick Prime gets his cherry popped over at das Elkus gruppen’s “Fear, Honor and Interest” (a group hug strategic website featuring sev cutting edge all stars) with a delish bit about Libyavention and future ‘ventions.
Wild Blue Yonder + De Oppresso Liber = Victory!

If such limited contributions of men and resources could achieve such a strategically decisive result here, well this must be the recipe for future conflicts. If so much can be accomplished with so little, well we wouldn’t need large combat brigades, we wouldn’t need to get bogged down …

Reducing patriotism to a sleazy roll in the hay
  31 Aug 2011     7:29 pm      Bookworm

Mr. Bookworm is catching up with the Jon Stewart episodes he missed while we were away. One particular segment, which starts at the 2 minute mark, caught my eye. In it, Perry talks about love for country, clearly distinguishing himself from Obama, who hasn’t shown such love, either explicitly or implicitly. Take a look at what Stewart, a very bright, and periodically honest, dyed-in-the-wool Progressive, does with Perry’s simple statement of patriotism:

The Daily Show With Jon Stewart

How Many People Would Live If Julian Assange Were Dead?
  31 Aug 2011     3:25 am      John Hawkins

Like Osama Bin Laden, Julian Assange is an enemy of the United States. Like Osama bin Laden, Julian Assange’s goal is to harm the United States and see as many Americans die as possible. Osama Bin Laden did it with bombs and we killed him for it. He deserved it. Julian Assange has done it by releasing stolen information. We haven’t killed him for it yet, but he deserves it, too. If we had already killed Julian Assange, the people who are about to die because of him would have …

Good News! Team Obama Issues Guidelines On How To Observe 9.11
  30 Aug 2011     8:10 am      William Teach

He can’t come up with an actual plan for getting the economy on track…..other than the same old worn ideas that have already failed, written on a cocktail napkin from the 19th hole, of course…..but, he can take time to tell government how to observe the 10th anniversary of September 11th, via the NY Times
The White House has issued detailed guidelines to government officials on how to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, with instructions to honor the memory of those who died on American …

Regime Changing
  26 Aug 2011     10:02 am      Courtney Messerschmidt

Perhaps the most charming charm Great Satan has exhibited (aside from angling her body diplopolitaire’ to create other angles) is the killer cool heap of trashed out despots, dicts and autocrats she’s tossed on the junk heap since the new millennium broke unto us.
The guy with one eye (hot rumours whisper he’s a moped enthusiast) Mullah Omar, that S’Ddam cat, President General for Life Pervez, and now Colonel Khadaffy. Not counting cats in Pyramidland or the Tunisian Squeeze.
Let’s just cut right to it, shall we?
Libyarvention made a great deal …

Revo Guards Rise
  22 Aug 2011     11:08 am      Courtney Messerschmidt

Sepāh-e Pāsdārān-e Enqelāb-e “Slāmi, bay bee!!
Perhaps the most charming ce je ne sais quoi about illegit despotries subtle, gross, horrid or benign is their magical ability to field praetorians. Throughout the manchile experience, the guardian guard of imperial imperators could perhaps best be scoped out as an uparmored posse of body guards sweetly functioning as political soldiers at the regime’s disposal.

Intended to be especial purpose troops for such duties as putting down counterrevolutions and strikes, conduct purges, and quell riots, praetorian guards are a regime’s actualizing enablers.
And in totally gay …

As Primary party time approacheth, the recent confab of GOPeabodies sparked some serious reflective belt quizes about the seemingly inherent “Great Satan Come Home” meme.

“Is it any wonder? I reject you first…”
Autocrats, dictators, leaders for life!
The latter bit of the last millennium shows perfectly well what a world full of despots looks like. The last century was like the bloodiest ever and all thanks to dictators. It was bloody not only because of the wars; it was bloody because of democide—the sheer mind numbing number of ppl that these creeps and jerks killed within their own Westphalian Sovereignity dodge proof borders -169 million.
Tyrannies killed more of their own citizens than foreigners. Despots caused …

Queen Of Battle
  1 Aug 2011     11:28 am      Courtney Messerschmidt

As previously previewed in the COIN issue of FFP- the ancient game of chequers – invented by pre mullah Persia – features cool playing pieces on the squares. Some are powerful – like Castle Towers, Bishops or Knights – some are not – like pawns.

The most powerful piece of all is called the Queen. She can move any distance, any direction to attack.

Just like Great Satan’s Modern Infantry – the “Queen of Battle.”
Checking history and how crazy the world is – no serious thinking person seriously thinks soldiers and teufel …

New York Times Blames American Conservatives for Norway Massacre
27 Jul 2011     11:56 am      Warner Todd Huston

(Just back from vacation so I am a few days late on this one, but…) The New York Times is never one to let a good tragedy go to waste when it can turn that sad incident into a bludgeon with which to bash American conservatives, even if the incident doesn’t have a thing to do with conservatives, D.C. politics, or even the U.S.A., for that matter. And so, not to disappoint, the Gray Lady incongruously used the terrorist incident in Norway to attack conservatives in America.
Anders Behring Breivik, the …

Macking MeK

Mac’ing!
For the unhiply helpless (it’s true – there are bunches to go ’round – just check the commentary here sometime – shocking…) to mack or macking is a term au courant from the military term to Make A Connection (all’s fair in love and war, nicht wahr) as in courting game (a measure of smoooothness).
As best understood, the, uh, ends, justifies the means in guy world’s eternal quest for the laffy taffy.
Could macking be macked up in the realm of the the diplopolititary?
Heck yeah!
Hooking up and handling a new clear …
