COP18 Hotcoldwetdry Talks Pretty Much End In Failure
  9 Dec 2012     9:30 am      William Teach

Except for those who enjoyed their government funded working vacation, of course. They had a great time…..well, eating, since no alcohol is allowed in the Muslim nation of Qatar. As for the talks themselves, really, when you hold them in the world’s 3rd highest “Carbon polluting” nation, it’s no wonder they failed. (Reuters) gives it the old college try in trying to rescue the outcome
Almost 200 nations extended a weakened United Nations plan for combating global warming until 2020 on Saturday with a modest set of measures that would do …

UN Approves Palestinian Observer Status Resolution
  30 Nov 2012     6:55 am      William Teach

Dhimmi’s and Israel haters around the world rejoiced
(NY Times) The United Nations voted overwhelmingly Thursday to recognize a Palestinian state, a long-sought victory for the Palestinians and an embarrassing diplomatic defeat for the United States.
The resolution upgrading the Palestinians’ status to a nonmember observer state at the U.N. was approved by a vote of 138-9, with 41 abstentions, in the 193-member world body.
A Palestinian flag was quickly unfurled on the floor of the General Assembly, behind the Palestinian delegation. In the West Bank city of Ramallah, hundreds crowded into the …

France, Spain Back Plan To Create “Palestinian” State, Germany Says No
  28 Nov 2012     9:20 am      William Teach

Well, we already know that Spain and France are willing to surrender to terrorists and hardcore Islamists, so, we should not be surprised in the least
(The Blaze) Spain’s foreign minister says Spain will vote in favor of recognition of a Palestinian state at the U.N. General Assembly this week.
Jose Manuel Garcia Margallo told parliament Wednesday that Spain would support the Palestinian bid at the U.N., because it feels it is the best way to advance toward peace.
As TheBlaze reported on Tuesday, France became the first major European country to come …

Obama Apparently Plans To Turn United Nations Visit Into Campaign Event
  25 Sep 2012     8:18 am      William Teach

What else could we expect?
(Boston Globe) Campaign politics shadowing every word, President Barack Obama on Tuesday will challenge the world to confront the root causes of rage exploding across the Muslim world, calling it a defining choice ‘‘between the forces that would drive us apart and the hopes we hold in common.’’
Sounds like this will be a hopey changey type speech with lots of soaring rhetoric. Unfortunately for PBO, the people at the UN aren’t wilting violets who’ll get all weepy eyed and faint.
Obama will step before the United Nations …

Obama To Bring Apologies To Islamists Tour To United Nations, Call For Peace In Our Time
  23 Sep 2012     8:36 am      William Teach

He apparently just can’t himself. It’s not like the UN’s Islamic Block hasn’t been pushing for defamation of religion measures for years (meaning only the Muslim faith), something which Sec Of State Hillary seems to approve of. And of which the OIC looks to push hard during the coming UN session
(Politico) National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor previews the president’s speech to the UN General Assembly next week:
“UNGA always provides an opportunity for the President to put the international situation in context, and to put forward a vision of US …

GOP Effectively Kills Law Of The Sea Treaty
  17 Jul 2012     7:00 am      William Teach

My question is, why aren’t all GOP Senators against this boondoggle? We know why Democrats love it: it puts quite a bit of American sovereignty in the hands of the United Nations as well as other issues
(Daily Caller) With 34 Republican senators now opposing a United Nations effort to regulate international waters, the Law of the Sea treaty effectively has no way forward in the U.S. Senate.
Republican Sens. Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Rob Portman of Ohio, Mike Johanns of Nebraska and Johnny Isakson of Georgia joined 30 other GOP …

UN Investigator Says US Drone Strikes May Be War Crimes
  22 Jun 2012     9:05 am      William Teach

Let me be clear: I mostly support Obama’s use of drone strikes against Islamist terrorists around the world. It’s one of the few things on which I agree with him. Actually, it’s more like agreeing with Joe Biden, who recommended using more strikes and less troops in regards to the surge in Afghanistan. The United Nations and ACLU, though, disagree
(Guardian) The US policy of using aerial drones to carry out targeted killings presents a major challenge to the system of international law that has endured since the second world war, …

Fundraise and Fore! obama’s Answer to World Events
  19 Jun 2012     6:23 am      Michael Fell

Israel issued warnings over security problems with Egypt. Militants from the Sinai Peninsula crossed over into southern Israel Monday and fired on a border security fence, killing one Israeli. The IDF moved tanks and otherarmed forces to the Israel-Egypt border in response to the attack. Egypt is on the offensive against Israel.
Egypt’s presidential election results lean towards victory for Mohammed Morsi, the radical Islamist Muslim Brotherhood candidate. Thanks at least in part to vocal White House support for the “Arab Spring”, which ushered the Muslim Brotherhood to Egypt’s presidency, Egypt …

  12 Jun 2012     10:49 am      Michael Fell

The International Conference on Global Governance vs. National Sovereignty, sponsored by American Freedom Alliance, concluded Monday in Los Angeles CA.
The chief question posed at the Conference’s opening: Is Global Governance vs. National Sovereignty the West’s next ideological war?
John Bolton, Former U.S. Ambassador to the UN gave Sunday morning’s Keynote Speech. Ambassador Bolton spoke from first hand experience, sharing front line knowledge accumulated through years of engagement in international diplomacy. He not only gave definition to the term “the Global Governance Movement”, he also described its agenda, which is to subvert …

Bad News for Globalists
  24 May 2012     5:13 pm      Michael Fell

European business activity fell in May, nearing a 35-month low, according to a survey by Markit. Its survey, based on European manufacturing and service sectors, fell to 45.9. The euro fell to a 22-month low against the dollar in response. Disagreement at Wednesday’s summit between European leaders about how to solve the dilemma did nothing to boost confidence.
Chris Williamson, chief economist for Markit, said research indicated the downturn had “gathered further momentum in May. The survey is broadly consistent with gross domestic product falling by at least 0.5% across the …

US Administration Renews Push to Ratify Law of Sea Treaty
  12 May 2012     12:01 am      Michael Fell

The Obama administration has initiated a renewed push to convince the U.S. Senate to approve the 1982 United Nations Law of the Sea treaty. Administration officials claim approval of the pact is necessary to protect the U.S. Navy’s right to carry out exercises off the coast of China. In the past Chinese ships have harassed U.S. vessels.
The administration’s push to approve the treaty comes at a time of increased focus by the Pentagon on China’s military buildup and the expansion of its influence in the Asia-Pacific region. The Pentagon is …

NAACP Requests UN Investigate U.S. Voter ID Laws
  15 Mar 2012     8:29 am      William Teach

Yeah, too bad they have no legal jurisdiction over the United States, but, it makes for nice theater
(Fox News) The controversy over requiring voters to provide photo IDs has reached the world stage.
The United Nations Human Rights Council is investigating the issue of American election laws at its gathering on minority rights in Geneva, Switzerland.. This, despite the fact that some members of the council have only in the past several years allowed women to vote, and one member, Saudi Arabia, still bars women from the voting booth completely.

Professional Warmists Shocked No Ice Melt In Himalayas, Still Say We’re Doomed
  9 Feb 2012     8:11 am      William Teach

We’ve already had confirmation on massive errors in the UN IPCC’s “science”, and know that the errors were used intentionally to scaremonger. We know that the data came from an unfounded report which had no scientific data, written by a grad student who did no field research, like so much of the 2007 IPCC assessment. And now we find
(UK Guardian) The world’s greatest snow-capped peaks, which run in a chain from the Himalayas to Tian Shan on the border of China and Kyrgyzstan, have lost no ice over …

Excitable Andy Revkin And NY Times: You Tea Partiers See UN Black Helicopters In Green Projects
  4 Feb 2012     8:30 am      William Teach

It’s like all you Tea Partying climate realists are conspiracy nuts or something (via Tom Nelson)

Said story: Activists Fight Green Projects, Seeing U.N. Plot
Across the country, activists with ties to the Tea Party are railing against all sorts of local and state efforts to control sprawl and conserve energy. They brand government action for things like expanding public transportation routes and preserving open space as part of a United Nations-led conspiracy to deny property rights and herd citizens toward cities.
They are showing up at planning meetings to denounce bike lanes …

UN To Solve All The Worlds Problems With “Sustainable Development”
  30 Jan 2012     7:29 am      William Teach

Sustainability was one of the ideas the United Nations and the extreme environmentals and Warmists ran up the flag pole about a year and a half ago as a way of replacing what they had been attempting to do with “climate change,” namely, put massive amounts of control over people and private businesses, economies, along with draining huge amounts of capital from the private sector and moving it to the public sector, letting governments decide best how to use the money people use. Unshockingly, a UN panel is pushing this …

Durban Wrapup: Landmark Deal To Do Something Later And Party Now
  11 Dec 2011     8:16 am      William Teach

So, the official part of COP17 in Durban, S.A., is over, and the delegates are taking fossil fueled flights (in lots of private planes) home. What did they accomplish? Basically, they kicked the can down the road
(AP) A U.N. climate conference reached a hard-fought agreement Sunday on a far-reaching program meant to set a new course for the global fight against climate change.
The 194-party conference agreed to start negotiations on a new accord that would ensure that countries will be legally bound to carry out …

Israeli officials: Former UN atomic chief ElBaradei was an Iranian agent
  9 Nov 2011     8:13 pm      Doug Ross

Chalk this up as another U.N. success story. Dan from New York explains:
Apparently, when the findings of the latest IAEA report on Iran’s nuclear weapons program are compared to earlier reports crafted by “moderate” Egyptian Mohamed ElBaradei, the obvious conclusion is that ElBaradei was working for the Mullahs. ElBaradei has since moved on. He’s now one of the leading candidates vying to be Egypt’s president.

UN: “If You Don’t Believe In Tackling Climate Change (Hoax), You’re Immoral And Hate Those In Poverty”
  3 Nov 2011     9:00 am      William Teach

Yet another breathless report from the United Nations (which is going to be holding it’s latest conference in the lovely vacation spot of Durban, S.A., at the end of the month, of which Anthony Watts writes “I’m not sure what it celebrates, perhaps they are celebrating being given prepaid tickets and receiving a salary plus a per diem to fly halfway round the world to a lovely remote spot to listen to people talk about wasting fossil fuel.”), and discussed in the NY Times, which kills lots …

If The Science Is So Settled, Why Intentionally Hide The Discussion?
  17 Oct 2011     8:19 am      William Teach

Some very interesting, and disturbing, information from the Competitive Enterprise Institution’s Christopher Horner, via Watts Up With That?
Although this is seedy and unlawful at any time, it also goes in the ‘bad timing’ file. Or it’s good timing, depending on one’s perspective.
Just as a brand new book further exposes the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)(which scam I dissected here, and in more disturbing detail here), and on the heels of the weekend surprise of a 2005 memo showing President Obama’s cooling/warming/population zealot of a ‘science czar’ …
