The Lawsuit That Wasn’t
  12 Apr 2012     10:13 pm      John Hawkins

On September 29th, I received an email from a student at Sealholm high school with the nickname Operative 6. He said that his school had a Flex program that was was regularly updated on the web. His school purchased Flex.org so the students there would have a convenient place to check the regularly updated page. Enter Revlon, the owners of Flex Shampoo. Here’s the email I received from the student at Seaholm high school….
“this should interest you a bit… evidently revlon (yes, the hair products revlon) is SUING (is that how it’s spelled?) …

Give the Gift of Lawsuits. (Hasbro vs. Dinobot.org)
  11 Apr 2012     10:11 pm      John Hawkins

While I was busy working on the whole Nintendo vs. Crackerjap story that I broke last week, I learned about a site called Dinobot.org. Apparently Dinobot.Org was embroiled in a legal dispute with Hasbro. Well, I decided to read a little more about it. 15 minutes later I was firing off an email to the webmaster of the page because I knew I had another story people on the net needed to hear about……
Terence Lindsey’s parents decided to get him a domain name for his birthday. After all, he’d been talking …

Since September 11th, I’ve noticed that there have been quite a few exceptional editorials written about the terrorist attacks of September 11th and the resulting “war on terrorism”. I thought that some of these editorials were so exceptional that they deserved to be recognized. So without further delay, here are the top 10 editorials since September 11th, 2001…

Michael Jackson: Fairy Tale In The Flesh
  10 Apr 2012     10:03 pm      John Hawkins

Michael Jackson is perhaps the sickest, most ridiculous freakshow walking the planet today. He’s a human fairy tale that with a moral that goes “this is how far out of touch with reality you can get when you become a celebrity.”
Jackson has literally been a star since he was a young child. He was the star of the Jackson 5 and as he matured he became one of those rare talents who come along once a decade or so. His career really has been comparable to the Beatles and Elvis …

Forewarning of the Terrorist Attacks?
  8 Apr 2012     10:06 pm      John Hawkins

I was just pointed to a thread that may be very relevant to the terrorist attacks that occurred today.
On 8/31/01 someone named Xinoehpoel (tesnal@psl.moc) made the followingpost on a google message board..
“Something is going to happen tomorrow. This is a witness against everyone on this newsgroup. I hate this newsgroup, and everyone on it sucks. REPENT! You are all evil liars! Do not be so evil, and be holy. You are going to get me killed because of the truth of my mouth. I am not telling you what is going …

Text of US Propaganda Broadcasts in Afghanistan
  7 Apr 2012     10:04 pm      John Hawkins

(**This is the text of one of the US propaganda messages we are playing over the radio in Afghanistan. I love it. It’s short, direct, brutally honest, and to the point.**)
Attention Taliban! You are condemned. Did you know that? The instant the terrorists you support took over our planes, you sentenced yourselves to death. The Armed Forces of the United States are here to seek justice for our dead. Highly trained soldiers are coming to shut down once and for all Osama bin Laden’s ring of terrorism, and the Taliban …

The CPAC 2012 Experience: 43 Pictures
  13 Feb 2012     8:47 am      John Hawkins

CPAC is a conservative Disneyland for bloggers. You get up early and stay out late, meet famous conservatives, hang out with friends you only get to see in person 2-3 times a year, meet dozens and dozens of new people, and hit parties and receptions galore. In addition, you’re constantly circulating, being pitched by candidates and people hawking products, and walking from one side of the cavernous hotel to the other to try to chase down friends, get to events, or get snaps of big names. Even that description doesn’t …

BlogCon 2011: Denver (45 Pics)
  14 Nov 2011     9:05 am      John Hawkins

Freedomworks had the 2nd annual Blogcon 2011 in Denver, Colorado this year.
Happily, they flew me in to….I don’t know really. They didn’t have me teaching anything. I like to think it’s because I’m just that much fun to hang out with, but I tend to doubt it.
Day 0: ArrivalPeople started arriving on Thurday night and a lot of us ended up on the 17th floor of the hotel, including Sarah Rumpf.
Things kicked off with everybody pouring into the Falling Rock Bar to hang out. It was a great event to …

The 50 Most Popular Conservatives on the Web (According to Google 2011)
  20 Oct 2011     6:52 am      John Hawkins

Putting together a list of the most Googled conservatives is more difficult than you’d think. You have to come up with an initial list of conservatives. The original list was over 150 conservatives long, all of whom were alive. Of course, you’ve also got to decide who’s a conservative and who isn’t. In some cases, that was a tough call. For example, I decided to include all the 2012 GOP contenders even though you could make an excellent case that some of them aren’t conservatives. After that, I searched the …

That Old Recipe for Success
5 Sep 2011     12:32 pm      Warner Todd Huston

I wrote this for our monthly newsletter for HHH Consulting, thought I’d share it with everyone…
People have made millions on self-help books telling people how to take their first steps down that road to success. Whole aisles in the bookstores are stuffed with the things. 101 Ways to Succeed, if only one! But, really, what is a recipe for success? The truth is, the real recipe for success has never changed since the first human began to think farther than just his own immediate needs.
We here at HHH strive to …

The 2011 Media Research Center Gala Picture Post (28 Pics)
  9 May 2011     5:40 am      John Hawkins

A couple of months back, I got an invite to the big yearly 2011 Media Research Center Gala. Since I’d never been before and I thought it would be a lot of fun, I decided to attend. Still, it’s a 7 hour drive for me into D.C. and if I was going that far, I had to get in a day early so I could spend a little quality time with some of my friends first.
So, Friday night, I got together a group of buddies at Vapiano for dinner. The …

The Defending The American Dream 2010 / Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor Rally Picture Dump (41 Pics)
  30 Aug 2010     2:58 am      John Hawkins

The fine folks over at Americans For Prosperity paid my way into D.C. so I could attend their Defending the American Dream Summit. This is the third year in a row that I’ve attended (The 2009 coverage is here, while the 2008 coverage was spread out across multiple posts).
I always enjoy the event, although this year, it was a bit abbreviated so that it could tie into the Glenn Beck rally. Instead of a two day event, it was a one day event and my guess is that the …

Why are We Suprised?
  21 Jul 2010     11:25 am      Heather Bachman

Just around MemoGate I was an aspiring reporter who was prepping for a career in investigative journalism. In my spare time, I had a political Internet radio program called The Conservative Watchdog. This was the only place I allowed my political views to surface, especially as a consistent stringer reporter and intern.  While at a New York Conference, I raised my hand to ask about my program and how it could assist me in some way through political reporting, the responding “Journalism Expert” stated: “You could always work for Fox …

Talking With Joseph Nassralla: The Man Police Escorted From The Ground Zero Mosque Protest
  10 Jun 2010     9:47 am      John Hawkins

Last week-end, Robert Spencer from Jihad Watch and my friend Pamela Geller from Atlas Shrugs helped organize a roughly 10,000 person strong protest against the mega-mosque that’s being built at Ground Zero. This is a noble cause and Pamela, Robert, and the other people at Stop Islamization of America who are fighting the good fight against this mosque deserve your support.
It’s worth noting that this is an even bigger issue than most realize because of Islam’s cultural traditions. As Andrew Mellon correctly noted at Big Government, “Muslims have been building …

2) Jonah Goldberg from National Review.
3) Andrew Malcolm from the LA Times’ Top of the Ticket.

The Top 10 Aqua Teen Hunger Force Episodes
  13 May 2010     10:23 am      John Hawkins

Admittedly, Aqua Teen Hunger Force isn’t a conservative show or everyone’s cup of tea. Heck, most of the time it doesn’t even make sense. But, what can I say? It’s funny, I like it, and enjoy the top 10 episodes of all-time (Summaries cribbed from Wikipedia and TV Rage. The videos are from Adult Swim Video):
10) Episode Title: Monster
Season: 7
Summary: Meatwad is afraid to sleep in his own room because he’s convinced a monster is waiting in his closet. Frylock tries to prove there is no monster while Master Shake …
