Colorado School Places Saudi Arabian Flag Above U.S. Flag

An elementary school in Fort Collins, Colorado came under fire last week for having placed in the school a smaller sized Saudi Arabian flag in a higher, more prominent position that the flag of the United States. Many locals called this a disrespectful display and even wondered if it was part of some effort at anti-American indoctrination.
Colorado blog Greeley Report first noted the flag controversy by posting a photograph of the lobby display calling the positioning of the two flags “an outrage” and saying how the disrespect to the U.S. …

New York Times Columnist Attacks Perry With Twitter, Gives Biden/ Demos A Pass
17 Aug 2011

As if we needed another example of the utter hypocrisy of the Old Media, we get New York Times screed-maker Binyamin Appelbaum who used his Twitter feed to smear Gov. Rick Perry over his Bernanke comments while giving V.P. Joe “Tea Partiers are Terrorists” Biden a complete pass.
Once again, Twitter catches the unhinged left revealing itself as the hypocrites they are. On Aug. 16, Appelbaum was all a twitter on Twitter over Rick Perry’s slap at Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Benrnanke.
If you missed the story that caused Appelbaum’s heart to …

U.K. Riots: What Liberalism Has Wrought
11 Aug 2011

Britain is burning.
It will be here soon enough, the rampaging bands of useless youths coursing through England destroying property and looting stores as they go. Why will it be here? Because our liberal elites look to Britain as the model for where we should go and are actively attempting to force us down that destructive, immoral path.
For several nights, now, the ignorant, selfish, half-wild, cretins that the British call their children have been waging war with common decency. They have been looting the nation’s soul. And why? Because liberals …

For Every Awful Gov’t Action There is An Equally Awful Reaction, Horses Worst Hit!

There is a jester of a Chicago Alderman named Ed Burke who back in the early 1990s made local radio audiences laugh by his plaintive plea of “what about the horses” on the floor of Chicago’s City Hall. He was worried that horses in downtown Chicago’s carriage trade were somehow being mistreated and so he tried to pass all sorts of absurd new regulations in Chicago to help his equine buddies. His plea rings in my ears as I read this new story of the “unintended consequences” of federal regulations …

Remember Stanley Thornton, the “adult baby” who spends his days wallowing in an oversized crib and soiling his diapers on the taxpayers’ dime, and who threatened to kill himself if Big Government cuts off the flow of other people’s money? Convict Ophelia De’lonta has issued a still more disturbing threat. The inmate at Buckingham Correctional Center in Dillwyn, Virginia is suing the state to provide him with a sexual mutilation procedure at public expense. He says if he doesn’t get his way, he’ll keep trying to castrate himself:
Ophelia De’lonta, 50, …

In the mad, mad, mad world of PC, silly little jokes about Islamist terrorists have only a one minute shelf life

This morning, my friend Kim Priestap sent a group of us an email telling about the Yemeni man arrested for trying to yank open the cockpit door while hollering the standard “Allahu Akbar!” Lee DeCovnik thinks we might have been seeing a dry run. The man apparently raced from one end of the plane (the bathroom in the rear) all the way up to the front (the cockpit), and then tried to open the door:
There were a couple of disturbing items in this dry run. First, this was …

Rutgers student pleads guilty to ThoughtCrime
7 May 2011

Chris Wysocki
So now our state is prosecuting ThoughtCrime. Under penalty of incarceration Rutgers student Molly Wei will enter a re-education camp for indoctrination into “alternate lifestyles.” The State will wash away all of her improper thoughts. No doubt she will emerge a good little automaton eager to do the bidding of her INGSOC masters.
And boy oh boy do they have plans for her. Ms. Wei will ensure that another Rutgers student, Dharun Ravi, is locked up for all eternity. The verdict has already …

Indians Finally Find an Excuse to Be Offended
5 May 2011

The SEALs used an apt code name for Osama bin Laden; they called him Geronimo, after the Apache warrior who was an enemy of the USA (and Mexico) and famously hard to find. But this isn’t going over well with racial grievance snivelers, who have been waiting for so many generations for somebody to insult Indians that they’re ready to burst into tears at even the most preposterous pretext:
Geronimo: The U.S. Senate Indian Affairs Committee didn’t know when it scheduled a hearing on racial stereotypes that members would have such …

A PC Slant

This story in the Northwest Asian Weekly about the trademark registration woes of a rock band called The Slants may sound familiar to people who follow such things:
The Slants, whose members are of Asian descent, have amassed fans nationwide, taking the stage at dive bars, Asian festivals, anime conventions, and even serving on panels to discuss racial stereotypes.
But behind the scenes, the band is fighting a battle with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). The office has twice denied The Slants’ request to obtain federal trademark registration of its …
