Surprise: Glitch In Obama’s Signature Legislation To Price Families Out Of Health Insurance
31 Jan 2013

I’m shocked, as I’m sure you are, as well, that there’s yet another “glitch” in Obamacare
(WTOP) Some families could get priced out of health insurance due to what’s being called a glitch in President Barack Obama’s overhaul law. IRS regulations issued Wednesday failed to fix the problem as liberal backers of the president’s plan had hoped.
As a result, some families that can’t afford the employer coverage that they are offered on the job will not be able to get financial assistance from the government to buy private health insurance on …

Prepare For The ObamaCare Sticker Shock
23 Jan 2013

William Teach
We haven’t discussed the idiocy of ObamaCare lately, legislation which the majority of Americans still despise. But, it’s still out there and ready to cause havoc
(Forbes) A California insurance broker, who sells health plans to individuals and small businesses, told me that she’s prepping her clients for a sticker shock. Her local carriers are hinting to her that premiums may triple this fall, when the plans unveil how they’ll billet the full brunt of Obamacare’s new regulations and mandates.
California is hardly alone. Around the country, insurers are fixing to raise …

College Professors Lose Hours Because of Obamacare
27 Nov 2012
3:01 pm
Warner Todd Huston
One of my favorite stories this week is the college professors at Pennsylvania’s Community College of Allegheny who’ve had their hours cut because of the costly requirements of Obamacare.
One of Obamacare’s changes to general business practices is to make people who work 30 hours or more a “full time worker.” For generations that magic number was 40 hours a week. But now that Obamacare is forcing this change to what is considered a full-timer, businesses across the country are forced to change policies and cut the hours of employees to …

Surprise! GOP Governors “Stonewall” Key ObamaCare Provision
20 Nov 2012

Talking Points Memo is shocked, shocked!, that Republican governors would leave the job of setting up the exchanges to the Central Government Planning Office
Late last week more than a dozen Republican governors declared that they will not build the insurance market exchanges called for by the Affordable Care Act, including prominent names like Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, John Kasich of Ohio, Scott Walker of Wisconsin and Rick Perry of Texas.
On Monday, Gov. Mary Fallin of Oklahoma joined them, declaring in a statement that it “does not benefit Oklahoma taxpayers to …

Restaurant Owner To Charge ObamaCare Surcharge To Customers
15 Nov 2012

For the most part, what ObamaCare will do to the economy and people’s lives has so far been an abstract concept. Sure, there are a few tangible effects, such as the 10% tax on tanning bed usage, and a few people with pre-existing conditions purchased health insurance (at enormous cost), but the true costs haven’t come into play as of yet (surely, that was the point behind implementing most of Obamacare in 2014). Now, one business owner is going to turn ObamaCare from conceptual to physical

ObamaCare Still Has Plenty Of Legal Challenges In The Works
13 Nov 2012

Many people got on John Boehner’s case for saying that Obamacare is now “the law of the land.” Unfortunately, he’s right. With the loss of the race for the White House, and no control of the Senate, there is now way for the GOP to repeal it, or even water it down and/or limit its damage. At least at this time. If, say, the GOP manages to win the Senate and White House in 2016, it will be darned hard to repeal and replace a law that involves 1/6th of …

Are You Ready For A Flood Of ObamaCare Regulations Post-Election?
6 Nov 2012
8:43 am
William Teach
You’ve probably heard about the massive number of jobs and energy killing regulations planned by Obama’s EPA to hit after the election. What about with Obamacare?
(Politico) The bottled-up rules to set up President Barack Obama’s health care reform law are going to start flowing quickly right after Election Day.
But how long will that last? That depends on who wins the presidency.
The once-steady stream of regulations and rules from the Obama administration — instructions for insurance companies, hospitals and states on how to put the law in place — has slowed …

Red Lobster, Olive Garden Testing Program Where Even Fewer Workers Are Full Time Due To ObamaCare

Who would have seen this coming? Legislation has consequences out in the Real World
(Washington Times) The owner of Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurants is putting more workers on part-time status in a test aimed at limiting costs from President Obama’s health care law.
Darden Restaurants Inc. declined to give details but said the test is in just four markets across the country. The move entails boosting the number of workers on part-time status, meaning they will work fewer than 30 hours a week.
Under the new health care law, companies with …

Doctors are sick of Obamacare
3 Oct 2012

Well, Obama can surely not count on doctors to back him in his re-election bid. Huffington Post’s Harry Bradford posted on October 2 that:
More than half of physicians say they’ll vote for Mitt Romney come November 6th compared to just 36 percent for Obama, according to a recent survey by medical staffing firm Jackson and Cokey. In fact, 15 percent of survey respondents said they’ll be switching to the Republican camp this election, with most citing the Affordable Care Act as the reason.
The majority of the 3,660 doctors polled in the survey said they also …

Media Blasts Ryan, Acts as if AARP is Non-Partisan
25 Sep 2012

Warner Todd Huston
Last week the media was all over Paul Ryan’s visit to an event with the American Association for Retired People gleefully reporting that he was booed. The media treated the whole affair as if the AARP was some non-partisan organization. But, the truth is, the AARP is no more non-partisan than any organization carrying water for the Obama administration.
Take The Hill, for instance. In its report the inside Washington newser noted that the boos Ryan received was “a clear sign of just how big a challenge Medicare poses to the …

Chief Justice Roberts, Obamacare And The Supreme Court Emperors’ Clothes; Are Justices Uniquely Honest Angels?
24 Sep 2012

Lester Jackson
The ObamaCare decision exposed the Supreme Court as an emperor without clothes. Hoping for deliverance from ObamaCare, many usual critics defended the Court. But with a new term fast approaching, a month before a critical election, Chief Justice Roberts’ handiwork should be remembered as a final wake-up call to consider, once and for all, whether the Court and judicial review merit respect, acceptance and legitimacy.

Obamacare To Leave 30 Million Uninsured, Tax 6 Million Americans
20 Sep 2012

William Teach
Remember back to the beginning of the long, long idiocy of passing Obamacare: the talking points of the day were to make sure that the 30-45 million uninsured were provided with health insurance. Then, over the following 10 months of ignoring the economic conditions, Democrats trotted out the travesty that is Obamacare, which is still wildly unpopular as a whole. And late Wednesday we learned
(Washington Times) Congress‘ official scorekeeper said Wednesday that 30 million people will be uninsured when President Obama’s health care law goes fully into effect, including six …

Think This Election Doesn’t Matter?

Chad Stafko
Those deeply entrenched in politics and individuals passionate about candidates and causes often claim that an election is of profound importance and that the results will have a great impact on our nation. These oftentimes turn out to be unintended exaggerations. However, this election is indeed one of those.
We stand at a wide fork in the road of America’s long and prosperous history, with two distinct pathways from which we, the voters, will choose. Our chosen path will be either one that vaults our government to unprecedented levels of intervention …

About Romney Saying He’d Keep Parts Of Obamacare…

…everyone relax.
(AP) Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, who promised early in his campaign to repeal President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul, says he would keep several important parts of the overhaul.
“Of course there are a number of things that I like in health care reform that I’m going to put in place,” he said in an interview broadcast Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” ”One is to make sure that those with pre-existing conditions can get coverage.”
Romney also said he would allow young adults to keep their coverage under their …

Surprise! Insurance Rebate May Stall In Employers Hands

Who would have thought that this could happen? Considering that Obamacare is well over 2,000 pages, written by all manners of different people and industries, and wasn’t read by anyone who voted “Aye”, it’s really surprising that there could be so many bugs (some intentional, many not) with the law. Like this surely unintentional bug
(NY Times) It was the great health insurance giveback: $1.1 billion in premiums returned to policyholders under the Affordable Care Act. But while many people who buy their own insurance found a check in the …

Obamacare Costs $1.9 Trillion AND Still Leaves 30 Million Uninsured
31 Jul 2012

Matt Vespa
Since the 5-4 decision to uphold Obamacare as constitutional through the taxing authority of Congress, the CBO gave their final grade. . But it’s not biggie. This entire overhaul is “deficit neutral” and will save money in the long run. That’s what the Left try to sell us. Even Joe Six Pack knows that something can’t be deficit neutral when you spend over a $1 trillion dollars on a new entitlement program. As Jeffrey Anderson of The Weekly Standard wrote on July 27:
So, what — besides less liberty — would …

Cook Medical Scraps Expansion Plans Over ObamaCare Medical Tax

The Democrats who wrote, passed, and support the “American Care Act” probably thought that companies would just roll over and willingly pay a higher tax rate for their medical devices. Alas, the Real World has intruded on the Dem fantasies of collecting more tax money to spread around to their campaign contributors and voters
(Fox News) An Indiana-based medical equipment manufacturer says it’s scrapping plans to open five new plants in the coming years because of a looming tax tied to President Obama’s health care overhaul law.

Ribali states that it’s now a “do” tank with Steve Forbes, Matt Kibbe, and Dick Armey leading the charge in the fight for limited government and economic freedom. Dick Armey, the former House Majority Leader, and Steve Forbes, CEO of Forbes, Inc., were key figures that started the national discussion of introducing a flat tax to replace our current system of obtaining revenue.

Henry Blodget, writing for businessinsider.com, shares some valuable information that will come in handy when debating with “progressive” useful idiots whether obama”care”tax is really a tax or not.
“Here are some of the new taxes you’re going to have to pay to pay for Obamacare:
•A 3.8% surtax on “investment income” when your adjusted gross income is more than $200,000 ($250,000 for joint-filers). What is “investment income?” Dividends, interest, rent, capital gains, annuities, house sales, partnerships, etc. Taxes on dividends will rise from 15% to 18.8%–if Congress extends the Bush tax cuts. …

People Still Think Obama’s Signature Legislation, ObamaCare, Is Terrible Legislation

Nancy Pelosi said we had to pass the bill to know what’s in it. Democrats did just that, by offering bribes and using cheap parliamentary tricks, despite massive outcry over the legislation, and now that we know what’s in it, it hasn’t gotten more popular. People are not resigned to accepting it. And the polls prove just how bad the American People think it is
