5 Ways to Forfeit Your Man Card
22 Mar 2013

John Hawkins
If Chuck Norris gets a pedicure so that his toes will feel more comfortable when he kicks people in the face, will you think he is a wimp? No. If R. Lee Ermey wants to drink a Cosmopolitan because he feels that it will keep his throat perfectly primed to yell at people, he can get away with it. If UFC light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones likes to unwind by watching Twilight after choking someone unconscious in a cage fight, who are we to argue?
Still, there are some things that even …

7 Movies That Show You The Masculine Ideal
14 Mar 2013
12:15 am
John Hawkins
My latest PJ Media column is called, 7 Movies That Show You The Masculine Ideal. Here’s an excerpt from the column.
Action movies are just as American as motherhood, apple pie and capitalism. Movies like Unforgiven, Gladiator, Rooster Cogburn, Conan, Dirty Harry, Die Hard, The Dark Knight, High Noon, Man on Fire, Red Dawn, Tombstone, and True Gritspeak to men in a primal language that transcends the story line on the screen. Men like these films because they capture qualities we’d like to think we have ourselves. We like the idea of being billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne and fighting crime in our spare …

10 Hollywood Celebrities Who Should Be Blacklisted By Conservatives
12 Mar 2013
12:45 am
John Hawkins
One of the biggest problems that conservatives have in this country is that we’re far too willing to support people who mock, despise and hate us. They tell the world we’re awful people and then we turn right around and put money in their pockets and help them become bigger stars. Meanwhile, conservative celebrities are afraid to support Republican candidates or speak up for conservatism because they know the Left will unleash a tsunami of hysteria on them. In other words, there may be a lot more conservatives than there …

Rand Paul and the Rest of You Damn Conservatives Need to Get Off John McCain’s Lawn!

I asked the president, can you kill an American on American soil, it should have been an easy answer. It’s an easy question. It should have been a resounding, an unequivocal, “No.” The president’s response? He hasn’t killed anyone yet. — Rand Paul
I do not believe that question deserves an answer. — Lindsey Graham
Mr. Holder’s letter answers Mr. Rand’s question, “Does the president have the authority to use a weaponized drone to kill Americans not engaged in combat on U.S. soil. The answer to that question is ‘no.’”– Jay Carney

Is American Life Really Slanted In Favor Of Women Over Men?
6 Mar 2013

John Hawkins
My latest PJ Media column is called, Is American Life Really Slanted In Favor Of Women Over Men?. Here’s an excerpt from the column.
A hundred years ago when women couldn’t vote or hold the same careers as men, it would be hard to argue that our society wasn’t tilted against them. However, those days are long dead and gone and women have largely achieved the sort of parity with men that the feminists of the sixties were demanding. In fact, we’ve gone beyond that point now and what we’re finding …

6 Tips For Making the Most Of CPAC 2013
6 Mar 2013
2:27 am
John Hawkins
Jimmie Bise wrote a piece called The Rookie’s Rough Guide to #CPAC2013 and although that’s well worth the read, there are a few things I think are worth adding.
1) Bring soda: I have no idea why it’s so hard to get soda at these events — oh wait, come to think of it, I do. It costs $5 per soda for an outside group to buy pop from the hotel and sponsors aren’t allowed to bring in from an outside source. So, buy some sodas at the grocery store, …

5 Things the Gun Grabbers Apparently Don’t Understand
5 Mar 2013
2:59 am
John Hawkins
“I’m not a gun owner and, as I think as is the case for the more than half the people in the country who also aren’t gun owners, that means that for me guns are alien. In the current rhetorical climate people seem not to want to say: I think guns are kind of scary and don’t want to be around them.” — Josh Marshall
“A fear of weapons is a sign of retarded sexual and emotional maturity.” — Sigmund Freud
Sorry, but your Second Amendment rights no longer apply because liberals …

5 Reasons Barack Obama is a Creep
2 Mar 2013
2:00 am
John Hawkins
Is Barack Obama the Vladimir Lenin of American Presidents? No, Lenin was competent in an evil sort of way. Obama is more like Leonid Brezhnev: an ultra left-wing, belligerent doofus who isn’t laughed at by the general population primarily because the mainstream media liberals say nice things about him out of fear that they’ll end up in a gulag if they’re too harsh. Of course, we don’t have gulags, but reporters who criticize Obama would be snubbed by their peers at cocktail parties in Manhattan and Old Town, which …

How Modern Life Transforms Men Into Wussies

“Most people think Marv is crazy, but I don’t believe that. I’m no shrink and I’m not saying I’ve got Marv all figured out or anything, but “crazy” just doesn’t explain him. Not to me. Sometimes I think he’s retarded, a big, brutal kid who never learned the ground rules about how people are supposed to act around each other. But that doesn’t have the right ring to it either. No, it’s more like there’s nothing wrong with Marv, nothing at all–except that he had the rotten luck of being …

20 Of the Greatest Moments In the History Of the Republican Party
26 Feb 2013
2:41 am
John Hawkins
After focusing on 20 Of The Most Embarrassing Moments In The History Of The Democrat Party last week, it seems appropriate to point out some of the greatest moments of the Republican Party.
1) Emancipation Proclamation (1863): The first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln, issued an order freeing all slaves in the confederacy.
2) End of the Civil War (1865): Abe Lincoln guides the north to victory in the Civil War and reunites the nation.
3) Women’s right to vote (1872): Republicans Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton write the text of the …

My Day of Resistance Speech
25 Feb 2013
12:22 am
John Hawkins
Last Saturday, 2/23/2013, was the first Day of Resistance.
Dustin Stockton came up with the idea less than seven weeks ago and I am proud to tell you that I am one of the people who was helping out on the national level with the event from Day 1.
Dustin Stockton’s Western Representation PAC and The Tea Party.net put a lot of muscle and money behind the event to get it off the ground. Among others, Tiffiny Ruegner of Women Warrior’s PAC, Jerri Ann Henry, Kellen Guida and Jared from The …

20 Of The Most Embarrassing Moments In The History Of The Democrat Party
23 Feb 2013
12:49 am
John Hawkins
For example, one will virtually never hear that the Palmer Raids, Prohibition, or American eugenics were thoroughly progressive phenomena. These are sins America itself must atone for. Meanwhile, real or alleged “conservative” misdeeds — say McCarthyism — are always the exclusive fault of conservatives and a sign of the policies they would repeat if given power. The only culpable mistake that liberals make is failing to fight “hard enough” for their principles. Liberals are never responsible for historic misdeeds because they feel no compulsion to defend the inherent goodness of …

Tomorrow Is The Day of Resistance
22 Feb 2013
10:08 am
John Hawkins
Tomorrow, on 2/23/2013, there will be more than 100 Day of Resistance rallies all across the country, in 38 states, and we expect more than 50,000 attendees nationwide. That’s not too shabby for something that was little more than an idea in Dustin Stockton’s head six weeks ago.
Since then, there have been a handful of people nationally working to make these events lift off, while hundreds of people have been working on the local level.
The thing to remember is that ultimately, this event isn’t about the feel of a …

5 Reasons Cats Are Inferior to Dogs In Every Way
21 Feb 2013
12:16 am
John Hawkins
Are cats really the Honey Boo Boo of the animal world? No, Honey Boo Boo is the Honey Boo Boo of the animal world, while cats are more like the Lindsay Lohan of the animal world — difficult, unpredictable, hard to like, and probably high on catnip. Oh, cats look cute when they’re in the bobblehead kitten stage or swatting away at yarn, but as you get to know the little beasts, you start to realize that they’re merely trying to lull you into complacency so they can steal your breath after …

Why The Hell Should Anyone Vote For The Republican Party?
19 Feb 2013
2:09 am
John Hawkins
The only answer anyone ever seems to be able to offer to that question these days is, “Because the Democrats are worse.” However, the problem with being the lesser of two evils is that you’re still an evil.
Well, what about the GOP’s principles?
What about them?
Name something that the Republican Party stands for today.
Low taxes? We’ve won that battle so thoroughly that 47% of Americans don’t pay income taxes even though we have a trillion dollar deficit. Meanwhile, many of the richest Americans are comfortable enough with what they’re …

15 Things That Are Not Okay For Liberals To Do
16 Feb 2013
12:31 am
John Hawkins
Many liberals have come to believe the rules of morality, decency, and good behavior don’t apply to them. You see, since they’re liberal they think that no matter how racist, sexist, violent, dehumanizing, evil or disgusting their behavior may be, they’re still good people just by virtue of the fact that they’re liberals. Of course, not every progressive feels that way, but almost no one on the Left who disagrees has the courage to speak out against the horrific behavior of his fellow liberals. That’s understandable if you think about …

My latest PJ Media post is called, 7 Types of Chicks Who Annoy Everyone Just By Their Very Existence. Here’s an excerpt from the column.
It’s no secret that there are guys out there who get on everyone’s nerves — the male feminists, the bronies, and dudes who need to pull their pants up. But don’t get too high and mighty, ladies, because no matter how much perfume some of you put on, your crap still stinks, too.

5 Things Americans Shouldn’t Take for Granted

“Those among us who are constantly rhapsodizing about ‘change’ in vague and general terms seem to have no fear that a blank check for change can be a huge risk in a world where so many other countries that are different are also far worse off.” — Thomas Sowell
The reason people who are knowledgeable about our nation’s history are so concerned with following the Constitution, sticking to traditions, and safeguarding our rights is that our country’s success is not the rule. For all the bitter railing you hear against “1%ers,” …

20 Reasons America Is Becoming An Increasingly Nonfunctional Society

John Hawkins
1) Starting in the sixties there was an explosion of children born out-of-wedlock and kids who don’t grow up in two parent families fare more poorly percentage wise on just about any and every scale imaginable including substance abuse, teenage pregnancies, suicide rates, criminality and homelessness.
2) Many people are becoming so childlike in their dependence on the government that they can’t save for their own retirement, escape from an oncoming hurricane, or even purchase their own birth control without the government handling it for them.
3) Our legal system encourages …
