What’s Cut from Obama’s West Point Speech Says Much About Him
23 May 2010

Drudge has an interesting little snippet concerning President Obama’s recent speech before the graduating class at West Point. It is a short headline about what was cut from Obama’s speech, a cut that really says a lot about the arrogance of team Obama as well as his utter lack of spontaneity and sincerity and his slavish reliance on the teleprompter.
Here’s the little snippet on Drudge:
Tepid applause from cadets: Cuts ‘That’s a lot of cheering’ line from prepared remarks…
So let’s let this straight. Obama actually had written into his speech ahead …

Recently the Washington Post announced that they were putting their weekly liberal opinion magazine Newsweek up for sale after recording horrific losses. And about the same time, CNN and CBS announced that they were in talks to consolidate news operations. What ties these two stories together? All three outfits fell victim to The News They Kept To Themselves

Have you heard about the video that was released that showed the killing of a Reuters photographer back in 2007 by American military helicopters? The Times makes sure that you don’t miss it: Video Shows American Killing of Photographer
The Web site WikiLeaks.org released a graphic video on Monday showing an American helicopter shooting and killing a Reuters photographer and driver in a July 2007 attack in Baghdad.
A senior American military official confirmed that the video was authentic.
Reuters had long pressed for the release of the video, …

A Little Reminder of the Left’s Unhinged Hatred
28 Mar 2010

With all the tales in the Old Media of the supposed violence committed by Tea Partiers going on since Obama’s takeover of our nation’s healthcare system, I thought it might be instructive to recall how hate-filled the unhinged left is in America today. A year ago, the good folks at Zomblog assembled a great series of photos showing the mental derangement exhibited by the human detritus at those once ubiquitous anti-war rallies that the distempered left hosted so often between the years 2003 and 2009… you know, those anti-war rallies …

NY Times “Worried” Over Iraq Elections And Democracy
16 Mar 2010

Here we go. Wait for the punchline
The latest election results in Iraq point to a heated and possibly lengthy power struggle between the Shiite coalition led by Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki and the rival secular slate led by Ayad Allawi.
That is not a surprise, but it is still worrying. There is much unfinished business awaiting the new Parliament and prime minister, including an equitable oil law and a fair resolution of Kurdish and Sunni Arab claims to Kirkuk. And there are less than …

They Have Voted in Iraq

Fox News reports:
Polls closed across Iraq on Sunday as the war-weary population awaits results from the national election that will decide the future of the country’s still-fragile democracy.
The election tested the mettle of the country’s shaky security as insurgents killed 31 people across Iraq, unleashing a barrage of mortars intent on disrupting the historic day.
About 19 million Iraqis were eligible to vote on a government that will oversee the withdrawal of U.S. forces. The election is critical in determining whether Iraq can overcome the jagged sectarian divisions that have defined …

IRS Plane Attacker Part of ‘Right Wing,’ Christmas Bomber Just a ‘Lone Wolf’
22 Feb 2010

Warner Todd Huston
No clearer difference can be seen in how the Old Media and its left-wing compatriots treat mass killers, terrorists and nutjobs than the way Abdul Farouk Abdulmutallab and Joe Stack have been portrayed by the Old Media and the left. Abdulmutallab, the jihadi Christmas Bomber, was treated as an aberration unconnected with any larger group — despite that he trained with al Qaeda — and Joe Stack, who flew a plane into an IRS building in Austin, Texas, has been held up as the epitome of the “teabaggers” and the …

A retrospective on the war on Iraq

If you read nothing else today, please read David Bellavia’s poignant piece on Iraq: Our Mission is Finally Accomplished… Anyone Care? It’s mostly directed at the doubters and naysayers, those who didn’t believe the US could and would win there, but it’s also an important read for those of us stateside who never gave up believing the mission could be accomplished, who never had a doubt that our men and women and our allies would make it happen.
Hats off and salutes to the men and women of our US …

Iraq War To Be Renamed, We Can All Thank George Bush For Staying Strong

Jake Tapper has an exclusive regarding the renaming of Operation Iraqi Freedom, which, perhaps, should be renamed “Operation Bush Was Right”
ABC News has learned that the Obama administration has decided to give the war in Iraq — currently known as Operation Iraqi Freedom — a new name.
The new name: “Operation New Dawn.”
In a February 17, 2010, memo to the Commander of Central Command, Gen. David Petraeus, Defense Secretary Robert Gates says the “requested operation name change is approved to take effect 1 September 2010, coinciding with the change of mission …

Liz Cheney: Biden Has Famously Tenuous Relationship With Reality
17 Feb 2010

I had the great privilege of meeting Liz Cheney and hearing her speak at the Red State convention in Atlanta this past August. She’s surprisingly tiny, but, in that small package, is an incredible mind and a hell of a backbone. I adore her and am so glad to see she is becoming an increasingly public voice for, not only Conservative women, but Conservatives as a whole (as true Feminists, we don’t …

Cheney to O’Biden: Before You Take Credit for Iraq, Thank Bush

Responding to Puff, the Magic Biden’s preposterous remarks from earlier this week in which VP Biden suggested that Iraq could be one of Obama’s “greatest achievements,” former Veep Dick Cheney didn’t pull any punches:
Former Vice President Dick Cheney, in an exclusive appearance on ABC News’ “This Week,” offered a sharp critique of the Obama administration’s handling of national security and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, saying any achievements over the past year largely stemmed from policies implemented under President George W. Bush.
“If [the administration is] going to take …

Where’s the Outrage: 1 Year Later, Gitmo Not Closed
2 Feb 2010
1:07 pm
Warner Todd Huston
One of the first things that Barack Obama did after being swept into office on the wings of “hopenchange” was to sign an executive order that would close the terrorist detainee facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. President Obama gave a one-year deadline after which he triumphantly informed us the facility would be closed. Well, we are at one year plus ten days after the signing of the order and Gitmo is still open. Yet few stories expressing outrage about this lapsed promise have made the rounds in the Old Media.

George Moonbat Issues Fatwa Against Tony Blair
2 Feb 2010

Dave Blount
Even otherwise liberal Tony Blair has one redeeming quality: he stood with civilization against the genocidal socialist dictator Saddam Hussein and his progressive fellow travelers. That’s why George Monbiot — whose name may have given us the word moonbat — has launched a website called Arrest Blair, where he calls upon his fellow kooks to get themselves arrested by attempting to “arrest” the former prime minister. Monsieur Moonbat even offers a bounty:
Money donated to this site will be used for no other purpose than to pay bounties for attempts to …

Chemical Ali Joins Saddam In A Very Hot Place
25 Jan 2010

Liberals around the world are probably sad right now, and wondering what the USA might have done to make Ali such a bad person
Ali Hassan al-Majid, a former Iraqi official known as Chemical Ali, has been executed by hanging, a government spokesman has announced.
Majid, an enforcer in Saddam Hussein’s regime and his cousin, had earlier been sentenced to death four times for genocide and crimes against humanity.
In January, he was sentenced to death for ordering the gas attack on the Kurdish town of Halabja in 1988.
Iraq knows how to deal …

The Ultra-Flexible WMD Definition
10 Jan 2010

Ed Driscoll
Despite finding saarin, mustard gas, and other chemical weapons, and despite various prison sentences for those who used them in Iraq or those who sold them, apparently, the only thing that would have satisfied the left that Saddam had WMDs would have been discovering a giant SPECTRE-sized Ken Adam-styled laboratory with men in white lab coats hard at work caught in the act. But as Elizabeth Blackney, AKA “Media Lizzy” notes on her Facebook page, my how the definition of WMDs has changed…

Obama Acknowledges Success of Iraq Surge – Finally
6 Dec 2009

Sister Toldjah
Something he wouldn’t do last year in a blatant attempt at placating his party’s anti-war base:
President Obama did acknowledge the success of the surge in Iraq and used some of its lessons to develop a plan in Afghanistan, the head of Central Command said Sunday.
Gen. David Petraeus, who is in charge of military operations throughout the Middle East and Central Asia — regions containing Iraq and Afghanistan — said the president asked him how troops worked to secure the population and achieve cooperation with various Iraqi factions, and held several …

Convenient Rape and the Senate

Lefties care about rape when it is convenient to do so. If they don’t have to go out of their way to check pesky facts or give up a decent movie script *polankispupportingdouchebags* or take a hit in the abortion debate or defend a conservative woman, rape is bad.
Currently there’s a meme floating around regarding the Franken Amendment. Just to give you all some background, this started with the Jamie Leigh Jones case. Here’s the backstory:
In legal papers Jones, who was 20 at the time, says she was fed a …

ABC News: Global Warming ‘Helps Taliban, al Qaeda’
13 Oct 2009

Warner Todd Huston
Increasingly, the Old Media appears to be engaged in satire and here is another story that could serve as an example of it. ABC News has published a purportedly serious story claiming that global warming “helps” the Taliban and al Qaeda in Afghanistan and terrorists all over the world.
For ABC, writer Bill Blakemore makes the leap of logic that droughts and other climate situations in countries in which the U.S. Military is engaged is “man made.” Speaking about military studies that have been conducted into how climate is affecting the …

Obama’s Muslim Advisor Says Sharia Law ‘Misunderstood’

It has been used to excuse the chopping off of hands and feet, it has been used as an excuse to stone women that have been victims of rape, and it has been used as an excuse to jail women merely for wearing a pair of pants, driving a car, or smoking a cigarette, but Barack Obama’s Muslim advisor told a British TV audience that Shariah Law has just been “misunderstood.”
Obama Muslim affairs advisor Dalia Mogahed (pictured) was a guest on a London-based TV show hosted by a member of …
