“Who respects a church that only echoes the secular world?”
  22 Jun 2014     8:55 am      William Teach

Good question
(The Blaze) The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)’s official embrace of same-sex marriage at its General Assembly meeting in Detroit, Michigan, Thursday has sparked a wide array of responses. From utter shock and dismay to jubilant rejoicing, observers are divided on the denomination’s decision to bless gay unions.
Consider the response from Mark Tooley, president of the Institute on Religion and Democracy, a conservative Think Tank. Tooley believes the matrimonial amendment, while being touted by some as a progressive step in the right direction, will eventually lead to the denomination’s demise.
“By overturning …

Christian Baker Commanded to Bake Cakes for Gay Weddings
  4 Jun 2014     2:41 pm      Dave Blount

Next time someone flippantly says, “It’s a free country,” remind them of this:
A family owned bakery has been ordered to make wedding cakes for gay couples and guarantee that its staff be given comprehensive training on Colorado’s anti-discrimination laws after the state’s Civil Rights Commission determined the Christian baker violated the law by refusing to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex couple.
Jack Phillips, the owner of Masterpiece Cakeshop, in Lakewood, Colorado was directed to change his store policies immediately and force his staff to attend the training sessions. For …

Houston Mayor Says Men Should Be Allowed to Use Women’s Bathrooms, Dressing Rooms, Showers
31 May 2014     11:13 am      Warner Todd Huston

The openly gay mayor of Houston, Texas, has declared that men should be allowed to use women’s bathrooms, dressing rooms, locker rooms, and showers.

It was an 11-6 vote of the Houston City Council prompting Democrat Mayor Annise Parker to issue her directive.

Houston’s bathrooms, showers, and dressing facilities will now be open to all, regardless of gender, gender identity, gender expression, or other predilection of gender behavior. By an 11-6 vote of the Houston City Council, Mayor Annise Parker achieved this as the crowning jewel of her tenure as …

Talk Show Host Who Objected to Michael Sam TV Kiss Getting Death and Rape Threats
17 May 2014     2:45 pm      Warner Todd Huston

When he was belatedly drafted into the NFL, openly gay player Michael Sam celebrated on TV by kissing his male lover. Oddly, the pair also smooshed cake in each other’s faces as if they were a couple getting married. One Texas talk show host objected to the display on TV, but when she spoke up she began to receive death threats and even threats of rape.

Amy Kushnir, a co-host of Dallas-based talk show The Broadcast, stormed off the set of her May 13 show after a heated discussion of Michael …

MSNBC’s Schultz Says Gays ‘Really The Ones Persecuted’ in Nazi Holocaust
13 May 2014     2:56 pm      Warner Todd Huston

Sometimes a celebrity will Tweet something, so blatantly a-historical, something so totally outrageous and insensible, that even they realize how bad it is and will try to delete it right away. But someone will always be there to preserve the evidence.
Well, MSNBC’s Ed Schultz just found out that Twitter is forever when he Tweeted that gays were “really” the ones persecuted during Hitler’s holocaust. Seriously. A guy with a German surname just said that. In public.
The MSNBC host Goodwined himself before anyone else even said a word with a Tweet …

Introducing Three-Way Lesbian Marriage
  24 Apr 2014     3:43 pm      Dave Blount

So long as they do not encounter sufficient resistance to stop them, progressives will always push the envelope further. Currently there is virtually no resistance, the Culture War having degenerated into a rout as conservatives shell-shocked by words like “intolerant” and “homophobe” drop their weapons and take to their heels. This means that the blitzkrieg campaign to normalize homosexuality is only the beginning. Among the new grotesqueries already appearing on the horizon — three-way lesbian marriage:
The world’s only ‘married’ lesbian threesome are expecting their first child.
Doll, Kitten and Brynn, from …

Mozilla feels stinging backlash after forcing out CEO for being anti-gay marriage
  7 Apr 2014     5:00 am      Michael Dorstewitz

The radical faction of the LGBT community is now getting the same outrage it had directed toward former Mozilla chairman Brendan Eich earlier this week over a campaign contribution, which led to his departure.

Now the company is getting flak over Eich’s forced resignation from a company he helped co-found. That decision angered many of Mozilla’s customers, and they didn’t hold back on their criticism, according to The Daily Caller, which reported:
The decision to remove the man who invented the web scripting language JavaScipt did not sit well with many customers — many of them pelted Mozilla’s website with …

Firefox Company Panders to Gay Mafia Declares NO Freedom of Speech for Religious Americans
4 Apr 2014     5:32 pm      Warner Todd Huston

Yesterday I wrote a piece for Breitbbart.com about how the gay mafia destroyed the career of the new CEO of Mozilla, the company that makes the Firefox web browser. But in its acceptance of a Stalinist show trial and its elimination of the CEO, Mozilla announced that only gays should be allowed to have free speech.
I noted in my Breitbart piece that even gay rights supporter and well-known blogger Andrew Sullivan has said that this fascist attack on Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich “disgusts” him. This CEO has been destroyed by …

Mozilla CEO Forced Out After IRS Revealed to Gay Militants That He Supported Traditional Marriage
  4 Apr 2014     2:57 pm      Dave Blount

On Tuesday, I made the following prediction regarding Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich, who had incurred the wrath of gay militants by making a private donation in support of civilization’s most fundamental institution, marriage:
Eich’s future with Mozilla or with anyone else in the lockstep liberal tech industry is probably not bright.
Sure enough. On Thursday, we read this:
Mozilla Corp. co-founder Brendan Eich has resigned as CEO after a week of public pressure stemming from a campaign contribution he made six years ago. Eich supported the wrong cause; he supported California’s Proposition 8, …

Part Of Kentucky Gay Marriage Law Struck Down Due To Reciprocity
  13 Feb 2014     9:36 am      William Teach

I don’t really care about this ruling vis a vis gay marriage as much as two other interesting points it brings up
(Courier-Journal) In a ruling that could open the door to gay marriage in Kentucky, a federal judge has struck down the state’s ban on recognizing same-sex unions performed in states where it is legal.
U.S. District Judge John G. Heyburn II ruled Wednesday that Kentucky’s prohibition violates the U.S. Constitution’s guarantee of equal protection under the law by treating gays and lesbians “differently in a way that demeans them.”
Ruling in …

Bakers facing fines, hate for saying no to lesbian ‘wedding’ cake aren’t backing down
  23 Jan 2014     12:01 am      Joe Saunders

The Oregon bakers who declined to make a cake for a lesbian couple celebrating their “marriage” have been found guilty in a state investigation of violating the women’s rights – even though the state of Oregon itself doesn’t even permit gay marriage.

Aaron and Melissa Klein, co-owners of Sweet Cakes by Melissa, have endured nearly a year of harassment from gay rights activistsand a state investigation and are now facing fines for violating the couple’s rights – but they’re not backing down.
“We still stand by what we believe from the beginning,” Aaron Klein …

Gohmert: Pro-gay marriage judges ‘need some basic plumbing lessons’
  19 Jan 2014     1:28 am      Joe Saunders

Conservative congressman Louie Gohmert and Rep. Michelle Bachmannturned a question about recent federal court gay marriage rulings into a clinic on constitutional law Wednesday – as well as a grade-school lesson on human biology.
Gohmert and Bachmann were speaking with Rep. Steve King, R-La., at the Conversations With Conservatives event sponsored by the Heritage Foundation in Washington.

U.S. Reps. Steve King, left, Michelle Bachmann, and Louie Gohmert.
“They need some basic plumbing lessons,” joked Gohmert, R-Texas, after noting that some courts had found no “biological evidence to support marriage being between a man and a woman.”
More seriously, …

Gay People Against Redefining Marriage: They Exist
  10 Jan 2014     1:00 am      Counter Cultured

by Anna Maria Hoffman
Recently, we received a question that highlights a great reality that Dan Savage and Andrew Sullivan fail to acknowledge: there are gay people who are against the government redefining marriage. The “marriage equality” movement assumes that its targeted audience is all on board with its goals. However, there are gay people who wish to not identify with this movement’s merciless tactics, which include using the government to silence dissenters with religious freedom assaults and threatening small businesses that uphold marriage between a man and a woman.
These people also don’t …

The GOP and Social Issues
3 Jan 2014     1:54 pm      Anna Maria Hoffman

by Anna Maria Hoffman
Recently, we received a question from Michael, one of our readers from the U.K.
“What is the best response to people who say the GOP should abandon social issues and focus on the economy/fiscal issues?”
Thank you for asking this question, Michael. It’s an important question that needs to be answered well.We must remind people that social and fiscal issues go together like PB&J. They both work together and affect one another. Separating the two will make our side weaker in its battle to defeat the Left’s big government agenda …

“Marriage Equality”: Focus On It or Forget It?
3 Jan 2014     11:17 am      Anna Maria Hoffman

by Anna Maria Hoffman
Recently, we received this question from a woman named Sharon:

“Marriage Equality seems to be winning everywhere and not showing signs of slowing down. Should focus be placed on other issues instead?”

Thanks Sharon for your question. The answer is no, and I’ll explain why below.First of all, the “marriage equality” movement embraces big government policies and tactics. If you don’t like big government, pay attention to this movement and its actions. It largely relies on special interest groups using the government to create a new standard of marriage for all Americans–a weaker, …

‘Denver Post’ Brands ‘Duck Dynasty’s’ Phil Robertson a ‘Hate-Speech Spewer’
1 Jan 2014     1:55 pm      Warner Todd Huston

In a December 28 Facebook posting advertising its article on the A&E network’s decision to reinstate Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson, the Denver Post called Robertson a “hate-speech spewer.” So much for an unbiased reporting of the news.
To flack its December 28 article titled, “‘Duck Dynasty’ debacle winners and losers,” by television critic, Joanne Ostrow, the Post threw up a blurb on Facebook saying that A&E “welcomed patriarch and hate-speech spewer Phil Robertson” back to the show.
“The feathers are no longer flying,” the Facebook blurb reads. “For now, the “Duck Dynasty” …

Gay Kid in Louisiana Says ‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Made Him Feel ‘Unsafe’
31 Dec 2013     1:21 pm      Warner Todd Huston

Here is the nonsense that the media creates with its untrue “reporting” of the “news.” A gay teen in Louisiana now claims that because of Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson, he has been made to feel “unsafe” living as a gay person in Louisiana.
This from a “closeted” gay student in West Monroe, Louisiana who wrote an essay saying how unsafe he feels because of what Robertson said about gays.
After an interview with Robertson went viral, the old media establishment went wild calling his comments “hate speech,” and “anti-gay” and ramping up …

Sen. Mike Lee files bill to protect churches from performing same-sex marriages
  30 Dec 2013     1:28 am      Michael Dorstewitz

A Republican senator is hoping to alleviate a dilemma that the rising tide ofsame-sex marriages could create for places of worship. As such unions become more acceptable, U.S. Sen. Mike Lee of Utah is afraid the day may come when churches are forced to perform gay marriages or lose their tax-exempt status.
“What we’re talking about here is the freedom of religious belief, the freedom of a church, for example, to adhere to its own religious doctrine so that it cannot be discriminated against by the government,” he told Newsmax, which also reported:
Lee said the …

Gay TMZ Editor Rips Into A&E Hypocrisy Over Duck Dynasty Drama
  21 Dec 2013     3:22 pm      Matt Vespa

Harvey Levin, TMZ founder, is just appalled by A&E’s suspension of Duck Dynasty Phil Robertson.  He views this whole debacle as abject hypocrisy.  Levin, who is gay, tweeted earlier this week that he doesn’t agree with Phil’s remarks about homosexuality, but doesn’t find them hateful.

He continues his evisceration of the network.

Moreover, as Greg Pollowitz at National Review noted yesterday, A&E – for all their outrage – is still airing a lot of Duck Dynasty episodes.

Video has surfaced of other controversial statements by Robertson on gays from before A&E hired him to …

Duck Dynasty Fallout Speaks Volumes…About Gay Bigotry
  21 Dec 2013     2:54 pm      Matt Vespa

While some might not agree with Phil Robertson’s views on homosexuality, it should be hardly a surprise to A&E.  Social conservatism and religion are the show’s bread and butter. And for the network to “indefinitely suspend” Robertson out of some sort of profound discovery of his views on this subject, is disingenuous in the extreme.  He admits he’s a “Bible-thumper.”
Additionally, saying the homosexuality is a sin rests with religious teaching; it’s not hateful. There’s a difference.  Although, if anything, this whole fiasco speaks volumes about gay bigotry.
