The New Battleground of Child Custody Reform: Shared Parenting
  19 Jul 2011     2:05 pm      Rachel Alexander

Child custody and support laws have become more onerous over the last 50 years due to fewer parents staying together and women becoming equally as capable as men at earning a living outside the home. Instead of reflecting these changes, the laws have lagged behind, continuing to favor mothers over fathers. The laws generally award primary custody to the parent who spent more time at home with the children and less time working, even if the difference was miniscule. The other parent is then ordered to pay a crushing amount …

What Liberal Feminism Has Come To: Fighting Over Which Gender Has A Vagina
  19 Jul 2011     12:14 am      John Hawkins

Prominent left-wing feminist, Jessica Valenti discusses vagina issues with one of her crackpot readers.

It’s like two weird aliens — who are studying up on human beings after missing almost the whole semester at school — are getting together to cram before their final exam, which both of them are destined to flunk.
Hat tip to Jenn Q. Public for the story.

Black Veil Brides
  20 Jun 2011     12:15 am      Courtney Messerschmidt

Ihkwan – rhymes with ‘stick one.’ Just saying.
Regardless of any chances that a trip on the Way Back Machine will – or will not -create an Aegyptian redux of Ottoman like Imperial m”Hammedism, there is a very serious – secular – concern about the Ihkwan – the you know what Brotherhood.
Especially in Egypt.
And it should be addressed repeatedly until it’s common knowledge in diplopolititary discourse au courant.
One of the charming things about Ihkwan in Pyramidland is all the jazz about all the ‘hospitals’ and ‘clinics’ they fund …

Boob Theory
  14 Jun 2011     2:05 pm      Courtney Messerschmidt

“Ve are liffing in Amerika – Coca Cola – Voonderbra”
Last years “Boob Quake” – psychically predicted by the highest levels of gay free Persia’s Preacher Command – Hojatoleslam Kazim Sadeghi (Ho what?!) claimed hoochies, hotties and hoes “don’t dress appropriately” and spread the hot sticky lust “when promiscuity spreads, earthquakes increase.”
Oh snap! Say it ain’t so!
Only, it WAS so!
“The pro-scantily-clad lobby of womanity declared today Boobquake, a day to flout and disprove the cleric by baring your boobs.
“And then a 6.9-magnitude earthquake occurred in Taiwan!”
Sweet! Let’s start worshipping …

Weiner did a bad thing and being pro-abortion doesn’t give him a pass
  9 Jun 2011     2:29 pm      Bookworm

A few months ago a movie came out based on a premise that was, for me, an entirely new concept: a Hall Pass or, license from ones spouse to have sex, once, outside of marriage. (I understand that the movie, which I didn’t see, ultimately made the point that having an affair isn’t as easy or attractive as it seems.)
I thought of that movie when I read Amanda Marcotte’s outraged article about coverage of the wanking Weiner. Unlike Kirsten Powers, who was mad at Weiner for lying …

Men’s auto-emasculation — or, is feminism really entirely to blame?
  8 May 2011     2:27 am      Bookworm

Several people, knowing my fondness for the Navy (think Navy League), sent me links to a Wall Street Journal article that Lt. Cmdr. Greitens, a Navy SEAL, wrote about what goes into making a Navy SEAL. Of course, it’s not just the training; it’s the man behind the training. No man who is afraid of ultimate responsibility, extreme hard work, painfully uncomfortable physical conditions, and pushing his own limits to their furthest boundaries will even think of becoming a SEAL. When one considers the demands of being …

Emily’s List Targets Rep. Steve King with Blatant Smear
  29 Apr 2011     7:32 pm      Duane Lester

Emily’s List author, Lisa McIntyre, wants her readers to think Rep. Steve King is a sexist. So much she is willing to lie about it.
The progressive pro-abortion, feminist organization posted an article today slamming Rep. Steve King as a sexist, claiming he would not debate possible Congressional candidate Christine Vilsack because she was a woman.
They continued the lie by claiming King said he would be willing to debate her husband because he was a man.
It’s simply not true. The author is reaching so far to paint King as …

The Feminist Left’s Dramatic Reaction to Wonkette’s Mockery of Trig Palin
  23 Apr 2011     2:09 am      Jenn Q. Public

Did I say “dramatic”? I meant “nonexistent”:

National Organization for Women: chirp chirp chirp
Ms. Magazine: chirp chirp chirp
Feministing: chirp chirp chip
Feministe: chirp chirp chirp
Pandagon: chirp chirp chirp
Shakesville: chirp chirp chirp
Jezebel: chirp chirp chirp
The Frisky: chirp chirp chirp
Bitch Magazine: chirp chirp chirp

Seems like a lot of crickets have taken up residence in the feminist blogosphere.
As Kurt Schlichter notes at Big Journalism, a handful of liberal media figures joined conservatives in condemning Jack Stuef, the revolting Wonkette blogger who tried to pass off his cruel ridicule of three-year-old Trig …

Yeah, I’m not thrilled about that J. Crew advertisement either
  13 Apr 2011     5:52 pm      Bookworm

The big “conservatives are evil” exhibit of the moment is conservative protests over at Fox about a J. Crew advertisement in which a mom happily paints her five year old son’s toenails pink. I think it’s worth adding here that the boy clearly hasn’t had a haircut in a while. In other words, if the ad didn’t identify him as a boy, he would be sexless — neither boy nor girl, just sexually content neutral.
The ad itself is pretty darn innocuous, but it is symptomatic of something much …

Liberal Feminists Are Apparently Very Confused About Gender
  12 Apr 2011     6:08 am      John Hawkins

Gender IS NOT a social construct. Let me repeat that, because it’s important. Gender IS NOT a social construct. In fact, believing that gender is just a social construct is an exceptionally stupid belief that ironically, is often held by very smart people.
It’s surprisingly similar in many ways to the error that Leftists make with communism. The thinking there goes that mankind’s behavior can be changed by conditioning. That’s true. Unfortunately, Leftists came to believe that with enough conditioning, we could completely rewrite the way human beings behaved. That’s not …

“Dear Woman” Scheme to Get Laid With Feminists May Actually Be Working
  10 Apr 2011     1:28 am      Jenn Q. Public

Are we looking at a possible love connection for the (purported) men of “Dear Woman” fame?
Earlier this week Lori Ziganto went full-on mean girl on the “sniveling, pathetic whiners” who recorded a video apology to all women for thousands of years of imbalances in masculine and feminine energies. If you haven’t been fortunate enough to see them disembowel their dignity, you can watch it here.
After viewing their emasculation-fest, I asked, …

If You Emasculate Yourself To Impress Women They’re Going To Hate You Anyway
  7 Apr 2011     3:57 am      John Hawkins

It was an atrocity. A trainwreck. An avalanche of fail sailing down loser mountain and headed right for pitiful gulch. It was a video called Dear Woman.

I have tried watching it four times and the furthest I managed to get was 2:15 seconds before my complete revulsion at the nauseating, whimpering, castrated half-”men” on display in the video prostrating themselves before the entire female species and begging for their forgiveness was simply too appalling as a man (no quotation marks) to watch.
In other words, my reaction to the video was …

There’s a Simple Reason Why Our Society Still Values Female Sex Symbols More Than Female Leaders
  1 Apr 2011     4:19 am      John Hawkins

Over at NationalJounal, Kathy Kiely is bemoaning the fact that our society still puts a higher premium on beautiful women than women leaders.
Sex and Power: Our society still values female sex symbols more than female leaders. The pace of change is too slow.
Like bookends on an era, the passing of two well-known American women last week underscored how much times have changed – and how much they have not.
The first to depart was Elizabeth Taylor, a woman of undoubted savvy and accomplishment who did a lot for others, especially those …

Why Veena Malik’s Smackdown of an Egyptian Mullah was a Seminal Moment for Feminism
  30 Mar 2011     3:39 pm      Susannah Fleetwood

Two days ago, Allahpundit picked up the story of gorgeous Pakistani actress, Veena Malik, courageously going off on an Egyptian Mullah who accused her of “immorality” because he didn’t approve of her appearance, or the fact that that she appeared on an Indian equivalent of the television show Big Brother. Jonah Goldberg was the first major blogger to report on this story, and it has been all over the right-wing blogosphere ever since. So, what makes this a possible seminal moment for feminism instead of just another viral …

Live Action: Planned Parenthood Mammogram Lies Exposed
  30 Mar 2011     11:19 am      Lori Ziganto

The left has been frantically pushing the spin regarding Planned Parenthood andthe recent move, via the Pence Amendment, to stop providing them with federal funding (from we, the taxpayers). Screeching things like If you defund Planned Parenthood, women will die! They wont be able to get mammograms. Why do you hate women and their girl bits?
As many of us know, Planned Parenthood does not, nor have they ever, provided mammograms. That has not stopped them fromoutright lying about this in an attempt to scare people into giving them money:
Most prominently, …

Never Let A Gang Rape Go to Waste?
  14 Mar 2011     1:16 am      Jenn Q. Public

Originally posted at NewsReal

In 1989, a jogger was beaten, raped, and left for dead in New York City’s Central Park.  When she arrived at the courthouse to testify, a swarm of protesters led by Al Sharpton greeted her with shouts of “whore!” and “drug addict!”
She was just a rape victim, an acceptable casualty of Sharpton’s beloved race warfare.
“It’s typical of the left to make a convicted rapist a hero,” Susan Brownmiller told an interviewer in 1975.  The feminist author was referring …

The Face Of Progressivism: Students Take Part In “I Have Sex” Video
  11 Mar 2011     3:55 pm      Sister Toldjah

The video and accompanying commentary pretty much speak for themselves:

Posted below the video:
A message from students at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. They write:
In order to “balance the budget” the House of Representatives recently announced the intention to strip all federal funding to Planned Parenthood. This is unacceptable. It’s time to face reality: many young people have sex, and need to know how to stay safe and healthy. Even those who have chosen to wait still need to know how to be safe and healthy when begin their sexual activity. This …

Planned Parenthood redefines “Be Prepared” for the Girl Scouts
  6 Mar 2011     9:15 pm      Chris Wysocki

Who was that yo-yo who said we need to stop focusing on social issues? Yeah thanks Mitch Daniels, I appreciate the advice. Too bad it’s wrong.
Today is Girl Scout Sunday. Churches across America are celebrating the accomplishments of our fine young women and their scout leaders. I had the honor of presenting the Mother of God Medal to Sophie during Mass. Eight Brownies in her troop worked very hard with Monsignor Desmond to earn this award. I know, because I was …

The Greatest Role of All: Motherhood, Feminism, and Natalie Portman
  1 Mar 2011     2:13 pm      Alexa Shrugged

Sunday night at the Oscars, Natalie Portman was giving her acceptance speech for Best Actress when she thanked “my beautiful love, Benjamin Millepied who choreographed the film and has now given me the most important role of my life” – motherhood.  It was a beautiful moment, but this Salon writer, Mary Elizabeth Williams, found Portman’s words “jarring.”  She got the creepy-crawlies at the thought of motherhood.  She doesn’t like it when people:
refer[] to motherhood as the most important thing a woman can possibly do … is motherhood really …

Wii-Stripping & Talking Fetuses: The Feminist Left Reacts to the Union Thug Assault on FreedomWorks’ Tabitha Hale
  27 Feb 2011     12:58 am      Jenn Q. Public

Originally posted at NewsReal

The patriarchy is afoot! How else to explain the feminist Left’s conspicuously absent outrage after a male union member assaulted FreedomWorks staffer Tabitha Hale in Washington, D.C. this week?
As steadfast defenders of women, surely feminists spoke out about this act of aggression against a 5′ 1″ woman and her uppity smartphone. But it’s the damnedest thing. I’ve combed through the feminist blogosphere, and days later, I still can’t find a single mention of what happened to Tabitha. Shocking, I know.
In all fairness, feminist …
