Greek Crisis Could Trigger ‘Meltdown’
27 Jun 2011
7:49 am
Robert Stacy McCain
Last week, CNN resorted to psychics, astrologers and tarot-card readings in an effort to predict the economic future. Those of us who don’t commune with the spirit world are more concerned with the Greek debt crisis. One U.S. analyst said that the “downside” risk, if European leaders can’t come up with a bailout deal, “is effectively a financial system meltdown.”
The political situation in Greece is not encouraging. The Greek parliament will vote this week on an austerity plan — which bankers are demanding in order to extend the country further credit …

Sirens Of Isolationism

“O Tay Mr Peabody! Set the dial on the Way Back Machine to 1911!”
Prob the best descrip of the recent GOP Debatery that CNN King Grunting Guy kept grunting through (yeah – it was kinda gross)
“…Mitt Romney sounded not so terribly different from Obama on Afghanistan, with the crucial difference that he wants out faster. Michele Bachmann and virtually all of them thundered that we had no need to be involved in Libya, least of all by playing second fiddle to France (a …

Quislings Enable Islamic Thuggery in England
14 Jun 2011
1:47 pm
Dave Blount
Conquering England isn’t easy. It hasn’t been done since 1066. Fortunately for Muslim invaders, they have help from quislings on the inside:
Victims say that officers in the borough of Tower Hamlets have ignored or downplayed outbreaks of hate crime, and suppressed evidence implicating Muslims in them, because they fear being accused of racism.
The claims come as four Tower Hamlets Muslims were jailed for at least 19 years for attacking a local white teacher who gave religious studies lessons to Muslim girls.
The Sunday Telegraph has uncovered more than a dozen other …

France Commemorates D-Day With Pacifist Moonbattery
7 Jun 2011

Dave Blount
Yesterday was the 67th anniversary of D-Day, on which 1,465 American soldiers died to liberate France from German National Socialists. The French government saw fit to commemorate the date by allowing a moonbat artist to clutter the beach with this tasteless desecration:
Original caption:
An installation of 1,000 casts of Russian, German and American combat helmets of WWII which also represent turtles, to denounce global violence, created by French artist Rachid Khimoune, is seen on Omaha Beach in Colleville sur Mer, western France, Sunday, June 5, 2011 at the eve of the …

The World Would Be Better Off If Greece Were Allowed To Crash And Burn
31 May 2011
4:05 am
John Hawkins
Of course, it won’t happen. The IMF, the rest of Europe, the United States — nobody wants to see Greece go down the tubes. There are good reasons for that. It would have repercussions for the Euro, for other states in Europe, and there could be ramifications for the world economy.
Then there’s the human cost. What if the payments from Greece’s government simply stopped? What if hungry people could no longer get food and poor Greeks went hungry with no food to be had? What if the military and the …

Germany Announces Plans To Lead The Way Back To Third World Squalor
30 May 2011

And they seem extremely excited about wanting to heavily reduce their available power and have nothing to replace it with
Germany’s coalition government agreed early Monday to shut down all the country’s nuclear power plants by 2022, the environment minister said, making it the first major industrialized nation in the last quarter century to announce plans to go nuclear-free.
The country’s seven oldest reactors already taken off the grid pending safety inspections following the catastrophe at Japan’s Fukushima nuclear power plant in March will remain offline permanently, Norbert Roettgen added. The country …

Old Media Ninnies Alert: German Newscast Displays Star Trek Logo as Seal Team 6 Patch
13 May 2011

Warner Todd Huston
Steve Gill* found an amusing little story. Apparently a German television news show had a report on Seal Team 6, the group responsible for taking down Osama bin Ladden, and the TV folks meant to show the military patch of the Seals on-air. But instead of showing Seal Team 6′s actual arm patch, the morons at the TV station used a logo designed by a Star Trek fan for a fictional terror group called “the Maquis, Seal Team 6.”
Of course, the ridiculous thing here is that all one has to …

Fish Rescued From Global Warming by Llamas and British Taxpayers
25 Apr 2011

Dave Blount
Just because there hasn’t been any “global warming” since the 1990s is no reason not to carry fish by llama into the mountains where they’ll be safe from it. From the moonbattery-ravaged farce we once knew as Great Britain:
Thousands of rare fish have been given a lift up a mountain on the back of llamas in an extraordinary move, led by the Environment Agency, to help the species survive climate change.
The endangered vendace, that has been in Britain since the Ice Age, is in danger of dying out as lakes …

Moonbat Tech: Woolen Coffins
6 Apr 2011
2:59 pm
Dave Blount
Where moonbats are concerned, nothing is sacred except moonbattery itself. This is why even the burial of the dead can be made into a mockery without disturbing the smug smiles on glassy-eyed liberal faces. The latest eco-fad — woolen coffins:
Thanks to a growing demand for green funerals in Britain, Hainsworth’s Natural Legacy caskets — each woven from the fleece of three sheep and capable of holding 840 lb. (380 kg) — have begun to carve out a share of the U.K.’s coffin market….
The idea for woolen coffins was inspired by …

Trash Collectors Refuse to Pick Up Toxic Eco-Bulbs
9 Mar 2011
1:29 pm
Dave Blount
Nothing could more perfectly summarize the perverse insanity of eco-fascism than Big Government’s war on the incandescent light bulb. Because sanctimonious bureauweenies are winning this war, traditional light bulbs will soon be illegal, leaving us with inferior yet more expensive compact fluorescents, which are so toxic that garbagemen are balking at their presence in the trash:
Councils across the UK are refusing to pick up low-energy lightbulbs from homes as they contain toxic mercury, which gives off poisonous vapours.
But confused consumers are putting the new bulbs — classed as hazardous waste …

Evangelical Christians and American Jews, Allies or Foes?

This is the text of an address I gave to a men’s luncheon in Niles, Illinois on March 3, 2011. Niles and its neighbor Skokie are heavily Jewish areas in the northern suburbs of Chicago. I hope it was fairly well received and that you will similarly find it interesting.
We all know there has been a complicated and often unfortunate history between European Christians and their Jewish fellows. There is an earned suspicion that Jews have for European Christians that goes back centuries. Over time relationships between Jews and European …

Life in the nanny state

I was reading Rick Steves’ Italy 2011 (the 2010) version, when I was surprised to learn this little fact on page 21:
Because Europeans are generally careful with energy use, you’ll find government-enforced limits on air-conditioning and heating. There’s a one-month period each spring and fall when neither is allowed.
For those of us in Marin who have been fussing about PG&E installing smart meters on their houses (something that happened to our house, will she nil she), that little paragraph is a stark harbinger of the future in the nanny …

Like Crime, Humiliation Pays in Britain
16 Feb 2011
2:06 pm
Dave Blount
Whoever said that crime doesn’t pay hasn’t been to Britain since liberalism run rampant reduced it to a bizarre bleeding heart hybrid of A Clockwork Orange and a Monty Python skit. Here‘s how it pays to sell heroin:
A convicted drug dealer who claims he was left “humiliated” after he was named and shamed on a police leaflet is to sue the police.
Luke Walsh-Pinnock, 22, claimed the document breached his human rights after it was sent to neighbours in Kilburn, north west London.
The leaflet contained a police photo and details of …

Moonbat Romance
14 Feb 2011

Dave Blount
Valentine’s Day is as good a time as any to examine the current state of romance in once great Britain, the canary in the coalmine of moonbattery:
In this day and age, when a thrice-married former fireman who has become a woman meets a Jamaican lesbian chef online there can only be one outcome — wedding bells!
Or, rather, civil partnership bells.
This is 66-year-old Kerry Whybrow, dressed in a full-length custom-made lilac dress, tying the knot for the first time as a woman three years after undergoing a sex change on the …

I now pronounce the Archbishop of Canterbury officially insane
9 Feb 2011

The Archbishopric of Canterbury used to be a pretty important job. The guy who held that position, going back to the earliest Middle Ages, was the premier leader of the English church, whether that church gave allegiance to Rome or the British Monarch. The current Archbishop, Rowan Williams is, as best as I can tell, insane.
A few years ago, he made a place for himself on the radar by supporting sharia law which is (a) anti-Christian and (b) antithetical to Western notions of human rights. I don’t …

It is (I hope) not futile to resist the Islamic Borg
5 Feb 2011

One of the things the Leftist multiculturalists refuse to acknowledge is that Islam does not assimilate. Individual practitioners of the faith may, periodically and superficially, espouse the culture in which they live, but the fact remains that Islam, by its nature, is the Borg.
Borg-like, the Islam collective’s motto is “Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.” The Borg/Islam collective does not recognize the possibility that it might be the entity that assimilates. As with the fictional Borg populating Star Trek : The Next Generation, when the …

British Public Schools to Push Homosexual Curriculum
4 Feb 2011
1:22 pm
Dave Blount
The totalitarian moonbattery that holds sway in British public schools has taken the final plunge into absurdity with a curriculum that features gay math, geography, and science. No matter what the subject, kids will be taught to revere the depraved and disease-spreading homosexual lifestyle. Examples:
Maths — teaching statistics through census findings about the number of homosexuals in the population, and using gay characters in scenarios for maths problems;
Design and technology— encouraging pupils to make symbols linked to the gay rights movement;
Science — studying animal species where the male takes a …

British Police Afraid of Local Kids, Soon to Come to the USA?
2 Feb 2011
1:14 pm
Warner Todd Huston
A British police chief has prohibited his own officers from patrolling a local park after dark because he and his fellows are afraid of the punks and trouble makers that infest the place at night. Thanks to a self-destructive and blind obeisance to PCism Britain has truly become an asylum run by the inmates. But this disease of PCism is one that left-wingers in America dearly want to emulate. Will the USA soon find police afraid of their own shadows, too?
Police Inspector Andy Sullivan told a meeting of the Wisbech, …

How the Balance of World Power Changed in 21 Seconds in 1999

Remembering Col. Zoltan Dani 12 years later
Technology of downed U.S. stealth fighter is now being used by Chinese and Russians
The balance of power in the world was changed in 21 seconds on March 27, 1999 by a colonel in the Hungarian Army. He’s retired, and back to his preferred career as a baker. As a tip of the hat to his military career, he makes a cake every year with his platoon buddies to commemorate how he stole the best U.S. military technology from the sky.

Insanity of Britain’s Equality Act Continues to Unfold
21 Jan 2011
1:50 pm
Dave Blount
If you want to work in Britain’s public sector, it helps to be a pervert. Naturally Muslims and those of non-British origin are favored too:
Millions of teachers, nurses and policemen could be asked to disclose their sexuality, religion and race as part of a new Coalition equality drive.
Lib Dem equalities minister Lynne Featherstone says all public sector organisations should consider sending ‘diversity monitoring forms’ to staff to prove they are treating all sections of society fairly.
That is, to prove they are discriminating against normal British people.
If the numbers don’t meet …
