EPA Proposes Burdensome Regulations On Wood Stoves
  5 Apr 2014     6:57 am      William Teach

More mission creep, more highhanded government causing problems for citizens
(Fox News) A federal proposal requiring more efficiency from wood-burning stoves has ignited a debate between the Obama administration and lawmakers who oppose the new regulations, arguing the rules impose an unfair burden on people in remote areas.
The Environmental Protection Agency proposed a rule changes in January that would dramatically tighten emissions requirements on new wood-powered heaters, though does not impact ones already in homes.
The EPA estimates that as much as 13 percent of all soot pollution in the U.S. is …

When Obama’s Bullcrap Goes Airborne – His Regulations Stink As Much As What He Is Regulating
  1 Apr 2014     10:21 am      Terresa Monroe-Hamilton

NoisyRoom.net

Obama’s EPA is now getting ready to regulate — cow flatulence. I wish I was kidding. What udder nonsense… and other puns abound. But however you cut it, this whole deal smells and I’m not referring to the cows.
Methane emissions have been falling across the US since 1990, but hey… any excuse will do to implement Cloward and Piven and clamp down on the masses. So, in the Obama Administration’s look towards massive insanity, the EPA is targeting the dairy industry to reduce methane emissions in their operations …

Man With Largest Carbon Footprint In World To Go After Methane
  29 Mar 2014     8:28 am      William Teach

Obama has a “carbon footprint” estimated, conservatively, to be 41,000 metric tons. That’s the equivalent of the footprint of 2200 Americans. Of course, that was in 2009, when he hadn’t sent his wife, kids, and dogs on separate flights on their way to vacations. This is a man who will take a fossil fueled flight across the country to give a 30 minute or less speech, before heading off to a fundraiser, of course. And now he wants to go after methane, which, surprise, is a major component of natural …

Clean Coal Boondoggle Consumes More Energy Than It Produces
  26 Mar 2014     1:41 pm      Dave Blount

America is not in decline because of any shortage of natural resources. Due to the destructive ideology of those in charge, our abundant resources cannot be exploited efficiently. A Duke Energy clean coal plant is emblematic:
[T]he complicated, uneconomical boondoggle that Duke Energy built in Edwardsport, Ind. so as to burn coal gas rather than coal – and thus produce less carbon dioxide than a traditional coal plant – may be the dumbest idea to fight imaginary global warming to date. If you swallow the alarmists’ premise and “solutions,” the plant …

Poll: Majority Support Keystone XL
  7 Mar 2014     8:29 am      William Teach

As usual, the hardcore enviro-weenies/Warmists are on the wrong side of the debate
(Politico) Nearly two-thirds of Americans back the construction of the Keystone XL oil pipeline, according to a new poll.
Sixty-five percent of Americans say Keystone should be approved and 22 percent are opposed, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
Republicans are most supportive of Keystone, with 82 percent approving. Support among independents and Democrats is also high, at 65 and 51 percent, respectively.
Politico notes that 47% think the pipeline poses significant environmental risks (the Washington Post gets it …

Keystone XL Protesters Arrested En Masse
  3 Mar 2014     8:22 am      William Teach

And have managed to bring the Gore Effect to D.C. today, where it is snowy and cold, and will be cold for days.
(Chicago Tribune) WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Police arrested hundreds of young people protesting the Keystone XL project on Sunday, as demonstrators fastened themselves with plastic ties to the White House fences and called for U.S. President Barack Obama to reject the controversial oil pipeline.
Participants, who mostly appeared to be college-aged, held signs reading: “There is no planet B” and “Columbia says no to fossil fuels,” referring to the university …

Environmentalists Target Fracking
  24 Feb 2014     9:03 am      Rachel Alexander

The environmentalist movement’s latest target is fracking. Fracking, or hydraulic fracturing, is the process of extracting shale gas from deposits underground. Natural gas releases less CO2 than oil into the environment. For this reasons, environmentalists concerned with global warming should be pleased to be moving away from oil and toward natural gas, but instead they are trying to stop it, state by state as well as on the federal level.
This is because their real goal is not about reducing carbon emissions, but the radical change of getting people out of their …

SCOTUS To Hear Arguments On EPA “Climate Change” Power Grab
  24 Feb 2014     8:05 am      William Teach

This could be a big, and game changing, case, one which could place limits on the ever-expansive role of not just the EPA, but other federal agencies and the Chief Executive
(CNS News) The Obama administration is squaring off at the Supreme Court with industry groups and Republican-led states over a small but important program aimed at limiting power-plant and factory emissions of gases blamed for global warming.
The justices are hearing arguments Monday in a challenge to a regulation that forces companies that want to expand industrial facilities or build new …

Regime Admits EPA Carbon Capture Lunacy Will Raise Electricity Prices as Much as 80%
  12 Feb 2014     2:30 pm      Dave Blount

Good thing for Democrats that they can afford to write off the South, where no one in their right mind would vote for them. Southerners, who are largely dependent on electric heat, have been experiencing record cold. Today’s weather report:
A snow and ice storm will severely impact travelers and residents from Louisiana to the Carolinas through midweek.
The event could be the worst ice storm for parts of the South in more than 10 years.
Meanwhile, ostensibly to combat conspicuously nonexistent global warming, Obama is following through on his campaign promise to …

Ted Cruz: Enviroweenies Should Love Keystone XL
  11 Feb 2014     8:15 am      William Teach

A nice bit of mental jujitsu, but Ted forgets that Keystone XL isn’t about environmentalism: it’s a cause celebre with the “climate change” cult, and they will not let go (especially as they drive their fossil fueled vehicles to the protests)
(ABC News) If you love the environment, Sen. Ted Cruz says you should love the Keystone XL pipeline too.
“If you’re a Birkenstock-wearing, tree-hugging Greenpeace activist, you should love the Keystone pipeline,” Cruz said at the Heritage Action’s Conservative Policy Summit on Monday.
Cruz, R-Texas, focused his remarks on a push to …

Obama To O’Reilly: I’m Waiting For John Kerry’s Approval On Keystone XL
  4 Feb 2014     8:43 am      William Teach

He’s simply running the clock out, as well as highlighting his pitiful leadership skills
(Fox News) President Obama told Bill O’Reilly Monday on “The O’Reilly Factor” that he was waiting to get an official recommendation from Secretary of State John Kerry before proceeding with the Keystone Pipeline.
Obama also took issue with the number of jobs the pipeline would create after supporters said it would create tens of thousands.
“Keystone Pipeline, a new study comes in, environmental impact negligible, 42, 000 jobs. You’re going to OK it, I assume,” O’Reilly asked.
Obama responded, “Well, …

White House: Not So Fast On that Keystone XL Pipeline, Cause “Climate Change”
  1 Feb 2014     8:22 am      William Teach

So, the President with a carbon footprint around 41K metric tons, and a Sec of State who constantly takes fossil fueled flights all over the world, and also owns several homes and multiple fossil fueled vehicles, are telling us to hold our horses on Keystone XL
(Fox News) A new environmental assessment from the State Department that raised no major environmental concerns on long-delayed Keystone XL pipeline isn’t the last step in deciding whether the pipeline can be built, the White House said late Friday.
The long-delayed pipeline got a major boost …

Good News: Wind Farms Get A Pass For Killing Eagles
  7 Dec 2013     7:48 am      William Teach

So far, I can’t find any environmental groups, Sierra Club, Greenpeace, NRDC, Earth First, etc, who are outraged by this. Some link to news articles, but have offered no articles themselves
(USA Today) The Obama administration said Friday it will allow some companies to kill or injure bald and golden eagles for up to 30 years without penalty, an effort to spur development and investment in green energy while balancing its environmental consequences.
The change, requested by the wind energy industry, will provide legal protection for the lifespan of wind farms and …

Obama Commits More Taxpayer Money to Killing Birds By Windmill
  5 Dec 2013     6:00 pm      Duane Lester

Last month, Duke Energy Corporation was fined because their windmills are killing golden eagles.

What’s shocking is not that windmills kill birds, but that the same federal government that’s shoveling tax-payer money into windmills is now fining companies when they kill birds.
Now, despite the spinning wheels of death knocking one unsuspecting bird after another out of the sky, President Obama wants the government to start relying more on these death traps:
“In order to create a clean energy economy that will increase our nation’s prosperity, promote energy security, combat climate change, protect …

Despite Massive Energy Finds, Electricity Costs Hit All Time High Under Obama
  29 Nov 2013     2:53 pm      Dave Blount

In Obama’s defense, at least he has kept some of his campaign promises. He said he would fundamentally transform America, and already it is doubtful that anyone who fought and died for the USA in wars past would recognize it now. More specifically, he said he would cause energy prices to skyrocket.
Inexplicably, people voted for him anyway. Now we read this:
The price of electricity hit a record for the month of October, according to data released [last] Wednesday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That made October the eleventh straight …

Under Obama, Your Electricity Costs Have Already Necessarily Skyrocketed

Actually, in the last 10 years, electricity costs have gone up 42%. I noticed, did you? While not all the blame can be put on Obama (Bush was enabling the EPA as well), a great deal of it can and who can forget his famous quote on coal and energy in general:

From CNS News:
The price of electricity hit a record for the month of October, according to data released Wednesday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That made October the eleventh straight month when the average price of …

Solar Industry Takes on Crony Capitalism in Arizona
  4 Nov 2013     10:47 am      Rachel Alexander

A heated battle is taking place in Arizona between the fledgling solar industry and APS, the  state’s largest energy company, which enjoys a state-granted near-monopoly over energy. In sunny Arizona, it is peculiar that solar energy is being portrayed as the bad guy. Since Arizona is a Republican-dominated state, APS is sneakily buying up influential Republicans, both directly and indirectly, to perpetuate its crony capitalism. The Washington Postrefersto these Republicans as “some of the best pollsters and consultants money can buy.”
The spin goes like this, “stop subsidizing the solar industry.” …

Bummer: Obama’s Colorado Solar Auction Bombs
  26 Oct 2013     8:28 am      William Teach

Perhaps companies are extremely reticent to dump their money into projects that have a poor rate of financial return
(Washington Times) So much for the White House dream of solar selling like hotcakes. The first federal auction run by the Bureau of Land Management to sell chances to build solar power projects on public land went completely bust on Thursday.
Nobody showed to bid.
“We did not have any bidders come to the sale, and we did not received any sealed bids on the sale,” BLM spokeswoman Vanessa Lacayo said, Denver Business Journal …

Wind Turbines Finally Begin to Come Down
  17 Oct 2013     11:23 am      Dave Blount

At last the beginning of the end has come for the lavishly government-subsidized bird-choppers that have marred the landscape across the Western world:
A wind farm that has been in the Yorkshire Dales for two decades is being torn down, and is believed to be the first to be scrapped in the UK.
The first but hardly the last. As even the most devout fools give up on the debunked global warming hoax, opportunities will arise for entrepreneurs able to repurpose these useless monstrosities for anything other than scrap metal.
The four wind …

Wind Farms Cause Bats to Explode
  16 Sep 2013     2:40 pm      Dave Blount

Maybe this will cause moonbats to think twice about wasting our money and ruining landscapes with ideologically driven, economically idiotic wind farms. Their turbines don’t just kill bald eagles, but also bats:
Scots windfarms are causing bats to explode, animal experts claim.
The Bat Conservation Trust say they have evidence that pressure caused by turbine blades pops the creatures’ lungs.
Bats are a protected species in the UK but the trust believe windfarms pose a big danger.
While bats can avoid the blades, the pressure creates a vacuum capable of killing them by bursting …
