WASHINGTON, D.C. – Describing it as a “highly regarded organization”, Obama’s Education Department recommends the Bill Ayers-founded Small Schools Workshop for use in creating “learning environments that are supportive of perseverance”.
The Small Schools Workshop is currently led by Mike Klonsky, a fellow 60′s radical of Bill Ayers, who once vowed to the communist government of China that he would lead the struggle to topple the U.S. imperialist ruling class. Read more about Klonsky here.
The Department of Education document, Promoting Grit, Tenacity, and Perseverance: Critical Factors for Success in the 21st Century, also recommends the Coalition of Essential Schools, …
Teacher Reportedly Takes First Grader’s Christmas Gift and Destroys Affixed Religous Story
10 Jan 2014 12:25 am Duane Lester
Key quote? “Jesus is not allowed in school.”
A first-grade teacher in California told a student that “Jesus is not allowed in school” before removing a religious story the child affixed to candy canes in celebration of Christmas last month, a non-profit legal firm claims.
The incident reportedly unfolded on Dec. 13, when 6-year-old Isaiah Martinez brought gifts for his peers to Merced Elementary School in West Covina, Calif.
According to a press release distributed by Advocates for Faith & Freedom, the firm handling the case, “Each gift consisted of a traditional candy cane with …
A Teacher On Why She’s Quitting, “I Am Paid To Give Out Gold Stars To Everyone”
6 Jan 2014 8:39 am John Hawkins
It’s no secret that our education system is broken and a big part of the reason for that is exactly the attitude in our schools that this teacher talks about.
It is with a heavy, frustrated heart that I announce the end of my personal career in education, disappointed and resigned because I believe in learning.
To pursue this calling, I worked hard to earn the title of “classroom teacher,” but I became quickly disillusioned when my title of teacher did not in any way reflect my actual job. I realized that …
Liberals are So Un-American, They Don’t Even Like Cookies
29 Dec 2013 12:51 pm Warner Todd Huston
We are living under a tyranny of the minority in the United States today. Gays are barely two percent of the country, yet they are able to get TV stars suspended if even only for a few weeks just because they claim he is “homophobic.” And now, in Minnesota, a woman that has made cookies for school kids for 15 years has been told to stop because one person complained.
One person. One jerk of a person. One cowardly, anonymous, jerk of a person.
A Minnesota mom started the habit of baking …

If this is what Big Government does to food, imagine what kind of medical care we will have before it has finished implementing ObamaCare. Kids who attend public schools are actually expected to eat this stuff:
Gross and Unknown.
But the important thing is that someone else’s parents are forced to pay for it.
Here’s another exercise for the imagination. If this is what they are putting in children’s stomachs, what do you suppose government schools are putting in their heads?

O’Reilly angry over union’s attempt to secure payment for molesting teacher
27 Dec 2013 6:13 am Eagnews
NEW YORK – Count Fox News Channel host Bill O’Reilly among the millions of people who are outraged that a Michigan teachers union is fighting to secure a $10,000 severance payment for a former teacher who is now in prison for molesting a student over a three-year period.
O’Reilly recently interviewed John and Lori Janczewski, the parents of the teenage boy who was repeatedly assaulted by Neal Erickson, who served as a math teacher and local union president in the West Branch-Rose City school district.
The Janczewskis told O’Reilly that they were …

Shocker: Common Core Aligned Text Says Global Warming Will Kill Us All
19 Dec 2013 5:21 pm Duane Lester
Who would have thought that a centrally planned government school system of standards would resort to propaganda and scare tactics to promote a green ideology?
I mean, besides us:
Fifth grade students at Fremont Elementary School in Colorado were assigned a reading passage that describes global warming as a dangerous, man-made phenomenon that will destroy civilization in a few hundred years.
The reading assignment was found inside a workbook aligned with the controversial national Common Core curriculum guidelines, and was titled “Homework from the Future.” It tells the fictional story of a visitor …
Media Ignoring That Colorado School Shooter Was Stopped by Armed Security Guard
18 Dec 2013 10:56 am Warner Todd Huston
Did you know that the latest left-winger who decided to shoot up a local school was stopped in 80 seconds by an armed security guard? Few do because the media refuses to focus on this fact.
Arapaho High School shooter Karl Pierson was loaded up for a long shooting spree when he entered his high school at about 12:30 on December 13. But it was all over in seconds resulting in this admitted communist shooting himself when he was confronted by an armed Arapahoe County Sheriff’s officer. The sheriff was employed …
OUTRAGEOUS: School Bans Kid’s Christmas Poster Because it ‘Might be Religious’
18 Dec 2013 10:54 am Warner Todd Huston
It’s a sales job, not a religious message!
It could be, it might be, it… isn’t religious, but the fearful authorities at a Minnesota school thought that a skeleton carton on a kid’s Christmas poster was “religious” and should be taken down.
The poster featured the cartoon character Jack Skellington from the Tim Burton movie “The Nightmare Before Christmas” but this didn’t stop the absurd authorities at the PACT Charter school in Ramsey, Minnesota from taking it down for fear of “religious” themes.
The civil rights advocacy group The Rutherford Institute has taken …
What Is It With Socialists and Violence Anyway?

Karl Pierson (via Karl Pierson’s facebook profile)
The young gunman responsible for the shooting on Friday at Arapahoe High School in Colorado is described in a variety of ways by his classmates: Socialist, Communist… See a trend? Sadly, my daughter came to us today and said that students don’t hold political views, so that cannot be true. Except it is and it is straight from the students themselves. Oddly enough, his family attended Bible study meetings according to the neighbors. It would appear that the son did not share …
Michigan Teachers Union Fights For Child Molester
15 Dec 2013 6:11 pm Matt Vespa
A teachers union is fighting for a disgraced Michigan teacher’s severance package after it was discovered he had a sexual relationship with an underage boy.
The disgraced teacher, Neal Erickson, had been a math and computer-education teacher at Rose City Middle School before he was convicted of having sex with the victim on multiple occasions. The sexual encounters began when the unidentified student was an eighth-grade student.
The boy’s father, John Janczewski, called the Michigan Education Association’s efforts to collect $10,000 for the convicted pedophile “ludicrous,” according to EAGnews.org. Janczewski notes that any money …
Union-Loving School Official Says School Vouchers Would ‘Train Terrorists’
15 Dec 2013 11:02 am Warner Todd Huston
WECT TV6-WECT.com:News, weather
One of the biggest solutions reformers have to fix our failing schools is to give parents vouchers that can be used to send kids to the parent’s choice of schools. But one union-backing school superintendent in North Carolina is so against any solutions outside those offered by unions that she is going to the absurd extreme of saying that vouchers would be used to “train terrorists.”
That’s right. If you support giving parents a better choice for their children’s education, then you are a supporter of terrorism.

Six Year Old Suspended For “Sexual Harassment”
11 Dec 2013 8:19 am William Teach
Progressivism run amok.
(KRDO) A six year old boy is suspended from school in Canon City for kissing a classmate on the cheek.
His mother says it’s a crush and the two children like each other. But the school is calling it something else; sexual harassment.
First grader, Hunter Yelton, told us he loves science and phys-ed. Also…that he has a crush on a girl at school, who likes him back.
It may sound innocent enough…but at six years old Hunter now has ‘sexual harassment’ on his school record.
He kissed her on the hand.
High School Sex Ed Indoctrination Reaching Dangerous Levels
9 Dec 2013 10:41 am Rachel Alexander
I was astonished recently when one of my stepdaughters arrived home from public high school in Washington state with a red ribbon painted on her cheek. Sex education in the schools – which conservatives have tried to limit to abstinence-only – has now gone well beyond simple education. Today’s students are being coerced into promoting and acting out the politically correct views taught them. It is being done so sneakily, using the authoritative stamp of approval by the public schools, that even my conservatively raised children were cajoled into participating.
University Apologizes for Racist ‘Black Santa’ Display
8 Dec 2013 3:13 pm Warner Todd Huston
If Santa were black would you be afraid to let him come down your chimney? Or would he only visit “the hood”? These are some of the questions asked in a racist Christmas display at Indiana University. Needless to say, the university has apologized for the debacle.
The controversial display featured a banner headline that asked, “Can Santa be a black man?” And all the type was white… except for the word “black” which was helpfully colored black to, you know, slam that message home.
The display featured stockings with messages on …
Three white college students file racial discrimination complaint against professor over lesson on structural racism
4 Dec 2013 6:43 am Michael Dorstewitz
A Minnesota college has reprimanded a faculty member for creating a “hostile learning environment” by targeting “students based on their race and gender.” The faculty member is black; the complaining students are white.
When three white male students in Shannon Gibney’s mass communication class at Minneapolis Community and Technical College complained because she discussed structural racism in every class, Gibney invited the students to file a racial harassment complaint. The students took her up on the suggestion, according to The Raw Story.
“It was inappropriate for you to single out white male students in class,” Lois …
Diversity Means Many Options
2 Dec 2013 3:10 pm Dave Blount
This is evidently not a joke, but an actual screenshot from an application to Bellevue College in suburban Seattle:
Instead of the standard “Male” and “Female” boxes that one checks on applications, there was the question: What is your ‘gender identity’? And seven different options: Feminine, Masculine, Androgynous, Gender Neutral, Transgender, Other and Prefer Not To Answer.
Under that is the question: “What is your sexual orientation?” Where you can then check Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian, Queer, Straight/Heterosexual, Other or Prefer not to answer.
The purpose, according to the college:
“It’s about being able …
Teachers in a Kansas district take a stand against union, vote to decertify
1 Dec 2013 4:10 am Eagnews
VERMILLION, Kans. – Teachers in a Kansas school district made a bold statement last Friday when they voted to decertify their union.
The teachers from Vermillion Unified School District 380 voted by a margin of 27-9-1 to end collective bargaining representation by the Kansas National Education Association, reports CJonline.com.
The Vermillion teachers joined their de-certified peers in Kansas’ Deerfield school district, who voted to drop the NEA last June.
Garry Sigle, who is executive director of the Kansas Association of American Educators, a non-union professional organization for educators, worked with the teachers in their efforts to …
Education Students Say Prof’s Grammar And Spelling Corrections A Sign Of Racial Hostility
27 Nov 2013 4:55 am Eagnews
LOS ANGELES – A group of 25 University of California at Los Angeles students – who are studying to be future teachers, school leaders and university professors – recently staged a sit-in to protest one professor’s acts of “micro-aggression” against minority students, which include correcting grammar, spelling and documentation mistakes on writing assignments.
The protest group, known as UCLA Call 2 Action: Graduate Students of Color, is also upset that education professor Val Rust – whose classroom last week’s sit-in took place – has questioned the value of some minority students’ …
