Jay Sekulow & ACLJ Make Demands of IRS
15 May 2013
12:01 am
Ronn Torossian
The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), which represents nearly 30 Tea Party organizations nationwide sent the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) a letter demanding that it grant tax-exempt status immediately to 10 Tea Party groups which have been targeted for additional review. Of the 27 Tea Party groups represented by the ACLJ, 15 have been granted tax-exempt status and today’s demand letter addresses the status of the 10 organizations that are pending. The ACLJ demands that the IRS respond by Friday, May 17th or face possible legal action.
“This is one of …

15 Reasons Liberals Say You’re Supposed to Hate Conservatives Like Me
14 May 2013
4:46 am
John Hawkins
My latest Townhall column is called, 15 Reasons Liberals Say You’re Supposed to Hate Conservatives Like Me. Here’s an excerpt from the column.
1) I think if the government is going to take a big chunk of the money that people earned to waste on programs that they’re going to get no benefit from, it should say “thank you” instead of complaining that those people are still not “paying their fair share.”
2) I don’t think that every time someone experiences a misfortune, the government “MUST ACT.” I don’t expect heaven here …

Lies About Libya
14 May 2013
12:08 am
Thomas Sowell
There can be honest differences of opinion on many subjects. But there can also be dishonest differences. Last week’s testimony under oath about events in Benghazi on September 11, 2012 makes painfully clear that what the Obama administration told the American people about those events were lies out of whole cloth.
What we were told repeatedly last year by the President of the United States, the Secretary of State, and the American ambassador to the U.N., was that there was a protest demonstration in Benghazi against an anti-Islamic video produced by …

My Mom’s Advice for America (Part 2)
14 May 2013
12:07 am
Chuck Norris
Last week, I cited my 92-year-old mother’s wisdom from her autobiography, “Acts of Kindness: My Story.” I highlighted her book’s advice for how to help my fellow Americans:
–How we reawakened the American dream and spirit.
–Don’t be surprised by hardship.
–Fight worry.
–Get back to the basics.
With Mother’s Day right at our backs, here’s the rest of my mom’s insight, directly quoted from her life story:
“Be humble and willing to work.
“Back in the 1930s, any work was good work. We picked cotton, picked up cans, scrap metal, whatever it took to get by. …

Partisan Obama Culture Spawned a More Abusive IRS
14 May 2013
12:06 am
David Limbaugh
In case you’re hiding under a rock, you should know that an audit conducted by the inspector general for the Internal Revenue Service has found that IRS officials targeted for scrutiny certain groups critical of the administration.
Which groups? Well, those with “tea party” or “patriot” in their names and nonprofit groups that criticized the government and sought to educate Americans about the U.S. Constitution.
It’s disgraceful that government bureaucrats, whether on their own initiative or at the direction of superiors, singled out anyone for special scrutiny, but what their selection criteria …

The Church of Scotland’s Scandal
14 May 2013
12:05 am
Dennis Prager
Earlier this month, the Church of Scotland issued a report titled “The Inheritance of Abraham? A Report on the ‘Promised Land.’”
The essence of the report is that according to the Bible, Jews have no more attachment to the land of Israel than anyone else. Hence “promised land” is in quotation marks in the report’s title — because there is no promised land.
In the report’s words: “The New Testament contains a radical re-interpretation of the concepts of ‘Israel,’ ‘temple,’ ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘land.’ When the Bible mentions ‘Israel,’ it does not mean …

Why Obama Didn’t Send in the Troops
14 May 2013
12:04 am
Dick Morris
Why didn’t President Obama order troops to Benghazi to protect what remained of our diplomatic delegation and their security staff? The only known communication between the president and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta during the attack took place about one and one half hours after the assault began. Why didn’t Obama call for reinforcements?
More to the point, as the attack escalated and its dimensions became clearer, why didn’t the defense secretary ask him for authority to order relief for the beleaguered mission? Why didn’t he even ask?
Clearly, the president must have …

The Benghazi Cover-up Matters
14 May 2013
12:03 am
Debra Saunders
Last Sept. 11, a terrorist attack left four Americans dead at the Benghazi, Libya, diplomatic mission. The next day, a State Department official wrote in an email, “The group that conducted the attacks, Ansar al-Sharia, is affiliated with Islamic terrorists.” Days later, however, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice went on Sunday talk shows and blamed an anti-Islam video for the violence, even though others in her own department knew better.
The administration later claimed that Rice simply was following CIA talking points. But last week, The Weekly Standard …

Benghazi, IRS: Son of Watergate?
14 May 2013
12:02 am
Cal Thomas
In his defense of President Obama, Press Secretary Jay Carney is beginning to sound a lot like Ronald Zeigler, Richard Nixon’s spokesman. Carney only has to use the word “inoperative,” as Ziegler did when incriminating evidence surfaced that proved his previous statements untrue.
Following what appears to be a cover-up in the Benghazi attack, the Washington Post has obtained documents from an audit conducted by the IRS’s inspector general that indicate the agency targeted for special scrutiny conservative groups with “tea party” and “patriot” in their names, as well as “nonprofit …

Some Things To Consider About Benghazi
13 May 2013
4:31 am
Derek Hunter
Elizabeth Taylor reportedly said, “You find out who your real friends are when you’re involved in a scandal.” Of course, she was in Hollywood, perhaps the only place where loyalty means less than it does in Washington, D.C.
But some people in the Obama administration are about to find out what she meant.
The Congressional hearing this week on the Benghazi cover-up was important not only for the information we heard from the witnesses, but also because, for the first time, it piqued the interest of the mainstream media. Perhaps it’s genuine …

Benghazi: Hillary Could Eat Kittens While Stomping on a Naked Granny and the “Media” Would Hail It as ‘Poetry’
13 May 2013
4:17 am
Doug Giles
Hillary better thank her god, The Father of Lies, that she’s not a conservative like Sarah Palin, because if she were a conservative, after last week’s blistering testimony against her by the Benghazi whistle blowers, all news outlets, far and wide, would be yelling “off with conservative Hillary’s head”.
But not The Original, Leftist, Hillary.
Original Hillary gets a pass.
Yep, the numb-nuts that make up the ubiquitous fake news organizations gave scant to zero coverage of the testimonies that completely contradicted Mrs. Clinton’s account of the Benghazi Massacre. For instance, MSNBC gave …

100 Years is Enough For Me, Pal
13 May 2013
12:05 am
Thomas Purcell
Here’s one potential advance in science that has me worried: human beings may eventually live a really long time.
According to the World Future Society, we are in the early phases of a superlongevity revolution. Thanks to advances nanotechnology and cell and gene manipulation, scientists may eventually learn how to keep humans alive from 120 to 500 years.
Which prompts an important question: Do we really want to live that long?
Sure a longer life would have its upside. I’d love to have my parents around forever. I’d love to swing by forSunday dinner …

Did Clinton and Obama Believe Their Benghazi Baloney?
13 May 2013
12:02 am
Michael Barone
What were Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton thinking? Why did they keep pitching the line that the 9/11/12 Benghazi attack that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans started as a spontaneous protest against an anti-Muslim video?
One possible explanation is confusion. There was such an attack on our embassy in Cairo earlier that day that fit that description.
When Hillary Clinton on Sept. 14 talked of a “mob” and “violent attacks” over the caskets of the Americans slain in Benghazi, she could have been referring to the attacks in Cairo. …

Jay Sekulow & ACLJ on IRS Assault on Conservatives
13 May 2013
12:01 am
Ronn Torossian
The American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), which represents nearly 30 Tea Party organizations nationwide against an assault by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), called today’s apology by the IRS a “significant victory for free speech and freedom of association.”
The ACLJ began representing Tea Party groups after the IRS launched an effort to intimidate Tea Party organizations by demanding information that is outside the scope of legitimate inquiry and violated the First Amendment. The IRS demanded that groups reveal the internal workings of their organizations – including the identification of …

American Pravda, a Nation of Lawbreakers and Benghazigate
12 May 2013

Doug Patton
Louis Brandeis, who served on the United States Supreme Court from 1916 to 1939, once warned, “Our government teaches the whole people by its example. If the government becomes the lawbreaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy.”
The temptation of each generation of those who value truth is to say that the leaders in power at that moment in time must be the most corrupt ever to rule. The blight of progressivism had its root in the administrations of …

No-Fault Internet Addiction

Thomas Purcell
Online chat host: Good morning, cyber pals. As you know, the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5), the psychiatric “bible,” is to be released this month. It will include “Internet-Use Disorder” – also referred to as Internet addiction – as a condition recommended for further psychiatric study. Our guest today is Dr. Adam Von Cybercruncher, America’s leading authority on Internet addiction.
Dr. Adam: Hello, all. More people are spending hours online to the detriment of their families, friends, jobs and other responsibilities. But as is …

Do We Still Need the Department of Education?
12 May 2013
12:03 am
Rick Jensen
When executives of corporations are caught aiding and abetting criminal behavior of their employees, the executives are prosecuted and the businesses are destroyed.
It’s time to do the same with the Department of Education.
The DOE’s unconscionable high-stakes testing through Bush’s “No Consultant Left Behind” and Obama’s “Slog To The Bottom” have produced millions of dollars for consultants, tedious hours of “data training” for teachers who would be more effective actually teaching and compelled hundreds of teachers to cheat for profit or survival.
At least 178 teachers and principals are involved. Superintendent Beverly …

Learn from History
12 May 2013
12:01 am
Michael Reagan
History is one of our greatest teachers.
It’s just too bad so many of our young people think history started with the death of Princess Di or the birth of the iPhone.
I was painfully reminded of America’s historical illiteracy and the failure of our educational system last week while golfing with a few strangers in Burbank, Calif.
One of the young men in my foursome was about 30 and ran a restaurant in Los Angeles.
When I told him in passing that I was going to be flying to Normandy, France, the next …

25 Reasons To Dislike Liberals
11 May 2013
1:29 am
John Hawkins
Is every liberal an immoral, nasty tempered, habitual liar who accuses people of racism for fun and trashes his own country because he thinks it makes him look sophisticated? Of course, not! On the other hand, is that a fairly accurate description of most liberals in politics? Yes, it is. Most of them aren’t evil per se, but as Margaret Thatcher said,
“Left-wing zealots have often been prepared to ride roughshod over due process and basic considerations of fairness when they think they can get away with it. For them the …

Benghazi: Are We A Nation Run By Fools?
11 May 2013

Susan Brown
It seems like only yesterday when President Obama stood in front of an electrified audience at the 2012 Democratic National Convention just days before the deadly September 11, 2012 attacks on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, reminding supporters, “al Qaeda is on the path to defeat and Osama bin Laden is dead.”
Days later, on September 14, a somber-faced Obama and his sullen-faced Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stood in front of four flag draped coffins at Andrews Air Force Base, assuring the small group of grieving family members their loved …
