The Denver Post Said What About Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson
  29 Dec 2013     7:37 pm      Matt Vespa

The Denver Post is at it again; this time smearing Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson after his victory over A&E.  Robertson was “suspended indefinitely” over remarks he made about homosexuality.   His suspension was recently lifted by A&E.  Apparently, some people at the Denver Post were irked by that decision.
The feathers are no longer flying. For now, the “Duck Dynasty” debacle is settled. The network, A&E, has welcomed patriarch and hate-speech spewer Phil Robertson back into the fold. The hiatus that was to be his punishment for homophobic and racist comments …

Good News: Wall Street Expert Recommends Investing in Guns and Ammo for Coming Collapse
  27 Dec 2013     8:10 am      Duane Lester

Already way ahead of you, chief:

A top financial advisor, worried that Obamacare, the NSA spying scandal and spiraling national debt is increasing the chances for a fiscal and social disaster, is recommending that Americans prepare a “bug-out bag” that includes food, a gun and ammo to help them stay alive.
David John Marotta, a Wall Street expert and financial advisor and Forbes contributor, said in a note to investors, “Firearms are the last item on the list, but they are on the list. There are some terrible people in …

Amash: “Obama is setting the stage for something very dangerous in the future.”
  24 Dec 2013     10:42 am      Duane Lester

Rep. Justin Amash says the Executive Branch has too much power and Obama is setting the future up for hard tyranny:

“I think it’s scary the direction the government is going, regardless of whether you have a Republican President or a Democratic President,” Amash told The Daily Caller. “We have an executive branch that is getting way too powerful, and President Obama is setting the stage for something very dangerous in the future.”
Now before all the Obamatons start chanting “Racist, racist, racist…” note that he said “Republican president of Democratic President.” …

Scott Brown’s Epic Smackdown Of Obamacare
  22 Dec 2013     2:38 pm      Matt Vespa

Former Republican Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown may be mulling another run in New Hampshire.  He’s relocating – and incumbent Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen is looking vulnerable.  Granted, Brown is a little moderate for my tastes, but in the left-leaning Northeast; he’s perfect.
Last month, at the Ronald Reagan Dinner in Scotts County, Iowa, you saw how “effective” Brown is at connecting with voters, according to the Washington Post’s Jennifer Rubin. Earlier this week, Rubin said that Brown could easily deflect the inevitable carpetbagger attack that will be lobbed against him.
In fiscally tight New Hampshire, Shaheen’s …

Obamacare Cuts Off Health Care For Woman With Rare Disease
  22 Dec 2013     12:55 pm      Matt Vespa

Meet the latest victim of Obamacare: Tiffany St. Cyr.  She’s a resident of California and has a rare disease called Achalasia.  It causes her esophagus  to become so weak that she cannot push food towards her stomach. In short, it leads to starvation. She needs treatment, but cannot pay for it due to Obamacare
The Mayo Clinic says there is no cure for the disease, but its “symptoms can usually be managed with minimally invasive (endoscopic) therapy or surgery.”
This where the healthcare changes come into play for St. Cyr. According to the Paradise …

Gay TMZ Editor Rips Into A&E Hypocrisy Over Duck Dynasty Drama
  21 Dec 2013     3:22 pm      Matt Vespa

Harvey Levin, TMZ founder, is just appalled by A&E’s suspension of Duck Dynasty Phil Robertson.  He views this whole debacle as abject hypocrisy.  Levin, who is gay, tweeted earlier this week that he doesn’t agree with Phil’s remarks about homosexuality, but doesn’t find them hateful.

He continues his evisceration of the network.

Moreover, as Greg Pollowitz at National Review noted yesterday, A&E – for all their outrage – is still airing a lot of Duck Dynasty episodes.

Video has surfaced of other controversial statements by Robertson on gays from before A&E hired him to …

Duck Dynasty Fallout Speaks Volumes…About Gay Bigotry
  21 Dec 2013     2:54 pm      Matt Vespa

While some might not agree with Phil Robertson’s views on homosexuality, it should be hardly a surprise to A&E.  Social conservatism and religion are the show’s bread and butter. And for the network to “indefinitely suspend” Robertson out of some sort of profound discovery of his views on this subject, is disingenuous in the extreme.  He admits he’s a “Bible-thumper.”
Additionally, saying the homosexuality is a sin rests with religious teaching; it’s not hateful. There’s a difference.  Although, if anything, this whole fiasco speaks volumes about gay bigotry.
Atlantic writer Brandon Ambrosino, …

A&E Sponsor: If The Robertson Clan Leaves A&E, We’re Gone Too!
  21 Dec 2013     1:27 pm      Matt Vespa

The Robertson family has made it known that they will not continue the show without their patriarch. And some of A&E’s sponsors have also said the same thing.
The CEO of Skyjacker Suspension Systems, Lonnie McCurry Sr., said that they’re sticking with these “faith-based, solid people” wherever they go.

Does Obama Understand The Basic Dynamics Of Government?
  8 Dec 2013     3:45 pm      Matt Vespa

You don’t need to be old – or have a wealth of experience – to understand that the federal government in the United States is huge.  That being said, one could easily deduce that because government is so big; it’s incredibly hard for it to act decisively.  Last week, the president “played Hardball with Chris Matthews” and gave another nauseating analysis on why Obamacare is a disaster. In short, he essentially said that big government is the problem.  You don’t say, Mr. President.

So, does this mean that Obama isn’t that …

It’s A Trap! Healthcare.Gov Wants Your ATM and Credit Card Pin Numbers
  8 Dec 2013     3:07 pm      Matt Vespa

Well, this should turn out well.  Apparently, the Obamacare website is asking for your credit card and ATM pin numbers.  It’s safe because the site completely secure.  Sorry, I was speaking as if this administration was competent.  The website is far from safe – and experts says that no security was ever built into the site.  Additionally, on top of  the credit card/ATM fiasco, the payments portion of the site isn’t even built yet.
Congressional lawmakers and staff are getting a hard lesson in the problems with the ObamaCare websites, as …

MSNBC Host: God Totally Loves Obamacare
  7 Dec 2013     9:47 pm      Matt Vespa

Last week, MSNBC’s Ed Schultz went way off the deep end with his declaration that God loves Obamacare.  During his Wednesday night broadcast, the liberal host was asked by a viewer if he would ask Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minnesota) what God says about the Affordable Care Act.

My first question would be about the uh possible ethics violation that she’s being investigated for… I’ll tell you what I think God thinks of the Affordable Care Act. It’s a big amen!
The ethics violation stems from contributions that she made to an Iowan …

Set Toilet Paper on Fire? That’s a First Degree First Degree Terroristic Threat!
  28 Nov 2013     12:06 pm      Duane Lester

So now, high school pranks earn you the label of “terrorist.”
Awesome:
Police say a 15-year-old freshman boy faces a second-degree criminally negligent burning charge, a misdemeanor, and a first-degree terroristic threatening charge, a felony, after he ignited a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom of West High School Wednesday morning.
Under Alaska law, a person causing the evacuation of a building can receive a terroristic threatening charge. And that is reportedly what happened after alarms sounded at West High at 10:57 a.m.
The key word is “can” receive a charge.
That doesn’t mean he has to …

Breathtaking American spirit conquers Westboro crazies at soldier’s funeral
  23 Oct 2013     4:19 am      Joe Saunders

Alerted by a news release from the Westboro Baptist Church announcing plans to protest the funeral of an Army Ranger, a crowd of thousands turned out Sunday to honor the young man who died in an attack in Afghanistan earlier this month.
Mourners showed up to support the family of Pfc.Cody James Patterson at the Oregon State University Campus in Corvallis, Ore., according to Eugene-based KVAL.
The protesters didn’t.
“We want to be completely peaceful, and we want to just represent the country that he fought and died for by having the American flag out here …

A Duck Call Against Censorship

Seems I’m always late to the fun… I was not watching Duck Dynasty because it sounded like another reality show to me. Boy, was I wrong. I finally decided to watch after catching one of my favorite shows with Tim Allen, Last Man Standing. I adore Allen, so when he had the guys on his show and there was dinner and a prayer at the end of the episode, I was smitten. Plus, the humor is right up my alley. I started watching and like the rest of …

Big Government Terrorism
  3 Oct 2013     12:01 pm      Robert Cleveland

The government has been shut down for a few days now, and for most Americans, life continues on.  I mean, sure, all of the politicians inside the Beltway are freaking out over the shutdown, but most of the people sent home work inside the Beltway, so they’re seeing the effects – for the most part, the rest of us aren’t.  We aren’t seeing it, we aren’t feeling it.  Life continues on, because most Americans aren’t dependent on the federal government for their continued existence.

But right now, big-government Democrats have a …

Colorado Dem Senators Get Recalled, PPP Polling Throws Out Own Poll Foreshadowing Results
11 Sep 2013     3:09 pm      Warner Todd Huston

Today we have a great example of a polling firm allowing its political ideology to get in the way of its work. On Tuesday, Sept. 10, two anti-Second Amendment State Senators in Colorado were recalled by huge margins. In the days before the recall vote took place, Public Policy Polling (PPP) had conducted a poll that showed that the senators were about to be eliminated by voters but the firm refused to publish its own poll because the left-wing pollsters couldn’t imagine the results could possibly be right. Colorado just …

Daniel Boone Nixed by Educrats
  21 Aug 2013     1:33 pm      Dave Blount

To build the new utopian America, first the old America must be completely extirpated. That means erasing our heroes and cultural icons, so that they won’t remind us of who we used to be. Consequently, frontiersman Daniel Boone is now deemed offensive:
Is a cartoon-like college mascot reminiscent of Daniel Boone — right down to the legendary coonskin cap — racist, sexist or otherwise offensive?
Officials at the University of Denver seem to think so. They’ve announced they won’t reinstate “Denver Boone,” who was retired in 1998 as mascot for the UD …

How The Zimmerman Case Doesn’t Add Up
  18 Jul 2013     12:01 am      Robert Cleveland

Protests, riots, and violence are now the legacy of Trayvon Martin and the attention his family got for his case following his death around a year ago.
I have a problem with this…and it has nothing to do with race, racism, or race relations in America.  Truth be told, all of the angst over this case just doesn’t add up.

1. Trayvon Martin was no child.
Trayvon Martin may have been a minor, but he was no child. He was bigger and stronger than George Zimmerman. He was 6’2″ and played football. George …

SCOTUS Overturns DOMA; Kills Ballot Initiatives in Attempt To Punt on Same-Sex Marriage
  26 Jun 2013     5:23 pm      Lennie Jarratt

In 2 landmark rulings today from the Supreme Court.
Ruling 1: Section 3 of DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) was ruled unconstitutional, i.e. any legal marriage from a state must be treated equally under Federal Law. This gives legal same-sex marriages the ability to file joint federal tax returns. It also allows benefits given to other married couples in these states.
The vote was 5-4 with Justice Kennedy being the swing vote on this ruling. This ruling affirms the state self governing rules and that how Federal Law cannot overrule this in …

Ooops! Yahoo News Posts Article Calling Kenya The Land of Obama’s Birth
25 Jun 2013     2:28 pm      Warner Todd Huston

Yahoo! News raised the ire of liberals with a June 21 article that seems to have accidentally stated that Kenya was the “the country of Obama’s birth.”
The article was quickly changed, of course, but not before people noticed and not before Twitter became filled with outrage.
The piece, written by Rachel Rose Hartman, was headlined “White House doesn’t have ‘figure on costs’ of Africa trip,” and noted in the first paragraph that Obama was visiting Africa. “But he won’t be stopping in the country of his birth,” the paragraph ended.
