Obama to College Students: You can TRUST BIG GOVERNMENT!

The greatest President of our lifetime was Ronald Reagan, who once said, “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.'” On the other hand, the worst President of our lifetime has been Barack Obama and he’s telling college students that they can trust big government. Here’s what he had to say in a “commencement address to the graduating class of The Ohio State University.”

Still, you’ll hear voices that incessantly warn of government as nothing more than some separate, sinister entity that’s the root of all our problems, even as they do their best to gum up the works; or that tyranny always lurks just around the corner. You should reject these voices. Because what they suggest is that our brave, creative, unique experiment in self-rule is just a sham with which we can’t be trusted.

This country has a deep distrust of government that goes all the way back to the Founding Fathers. In fact, our Constitution was designed to have a separation of powers along with checks and balances specifically because the Founding Fathers didn’t trust the government.

That’s why John Adams said, “There is danger from all men. The only maxim of a free government ought to be to trust no man living with power to endanger the public liberty.” It’s also why Ben Franklin noted that, “No man’s life, liberty or fortune is safe while our legislature is in session.” Thomas Jefferson also added that, “Sometimes it is said that man cannot be trusted with the government of himself. Can he, then, be trusted with the government of others?”

These men were brilliant titans whose genius helped found the most successful nation in world history. On the other hand, Barack Obama is a highly incompetent, narcissistic socialist who lies incessantly. Whom do you trust? — and if the answer is, “the government,” then you’ve apparently never been to the DMV, never been at the mercy of a dead-eyed bureaucrat and have never read enough history to see that the Founding Fathers were even more right about the dangers of government than they probably ever realized.
